We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Robert Queen . We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Robert below.
Hi Robert , thanks for joining us today. Looking back, do you think you started your business at the right time? Do you wish you had started sooner or later
Wow, what a question! To answer this is a unique form of my life I think I would say I should have started off a later sooner beaming toward that I stayed in retail for nearly 15 years but prior years to me even considering a business was a struggle to begin with. I did not start out with money or a degree in business I just started doing graphics from a broken laptop and a crack screen. Yes I could see and at times where I couldn’t I just used my phone for higher definition of graphics and still do often. I started to go back to school in 2013 however at the time my time at work was even so far apart from my dreams and goal but I had to push it! The sooner the better is what they huh well not in my term I would says they later the better now. While money and investments are kind of east for me now I would close this argument out and say the “later” the better.
Robert , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
To know me is to love life and that is simply what I want my clients to do as I present a professional yet jazzy way of what I bring. I am an ordained minister in the COGIC denomination, in ministry for 14 – 15 years now. I started designing for various different ministries. That’s where I got my start in graphics design and just navigate along with it. Along side of graphics I began a newsletter that I started in 2017 that would bring the positive side out of our community and those that are shining a good light around their environment. I yet today operate that newsletter! Recently, in February 2022 I featured nearly 300 African American Texans as “BLACK HISTORY MONTH” tributes to BLACK EXCELLENCE! It was simply phenomenal showing so much love as a “free gift” to follow and support the business.
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
Social media is an amazing tool to express yourself in so many different ways when it comes to selecting the right kind of branding for your company or business. I have 2 pages and a group page that I connect to daily that I post everything about RNow media! I think that is a very important thing to do as we progress as business owners and entrepreneurs in the making. There is competition after competition out there but don’t allow the odds to go against what you do in media when it comes to branding yourself!
How do you keep your team’s morale high?
Challenging ourselves to be a better boss, owner or manager is a task. The best advice I can give in my experience is one word that we all may have a heavy problem with down through the years of business and that is “patience”. It is definitely a virtue and it is something that can’t be earned or watch for a reward but it has to be planted as a seed that awards us so many opportunities in life along the way. When we have that developed inside of us it is easier to adapt to whatever comes our way in business.
