We were lucky to catch up with Robert Lawson recently and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Robert, thanks for joining us today. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?

My mission is to inspire individuals who have gone through the same things in life as me. I want to inspire the voiceless the people who are scared to speak up or have spoken out but wasn’t heard. I want them to know that our story matters no matter who try to minimize it. I want them to know that the storm doesn’t last forever. So many times, in my life I was lost and mislead and there are a lot of lost souls and lost youth, so I just want to inspire them to live a better and healthier life.

Robert, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

Robert Lawson is an Amazon #1 Best seller of his debut book Trial and Error – Life of Depression. Robert has 3 beautiful children Jay’Dion, Josiah, Jaliyah, and a beautiful wife by the name of Danielle. Robert has graduated from the University of Pheonix with his bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration. Robert got into writing by a spiritual message from his grandmother Karin. His grandmother had cancer and once told him that he had a higher purpose in life. He tried to get it out of her, but she wouldn’t tell him. Robert was left with frustration and confusion. Two weeks later, his grandmother passed, and he kept seeing the same signs all over social media and other things and took it as his grandmother wanted him to share his story and inspire the world. He hasn’t looked back ever since and now has created a bestselling book that’s impacting others. What sets him apart from others is that hes not really in it for the money he just wants to inspire others with his story and be the voice for the voiceless and people that’s scared to speak up. He wants people to know that their story matters and never let anyone try to minimize it not even family! Robert is most proud of how far he came and how he was once lost now he is found by the grace of God. Hes happy he made it this far and that his story is impacting others even though a lot of people was trying to minimize his story. Robert wants everyone to know that if God put it on your heart to do who cares what everyone else thinks or say.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?

For me the most rewarding part of being an author it’s not the sales or how much money you can make becoming an author. It’s the part when someone one day come up to you and say because of you I didn’t give up, or because of you my life changed for the better. I want to inspire others before I expire.

Are there any books, videos or other content that you feel have meaningfully impacted your thinking?

Yes, there are a few books and videos that have impacted my author journey. I would say Eric Thomas (E.T) (Eric the hip-hop preacher). He has inspired me in so many ways. With his incredible videos and books my favorite would be his ‘You Owe You” book. His voice helped me not be afraid to share or tell my story and stop hiding behind the pain and embrace it. The pain is only helping us grow and we already in pain so why don’t we get award for it. So, I just took everything he put in his videos and books and ran with it and started making a lot of changes within myself and it has helped me dramatically.
