We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Robert D. Harris. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Robert D. below.
Hi Robert, thanks for joining us today. What do you think it takes to be successful?
Establishing relationships and cultivating connections have often proven key for the success of business. Partnerships will always be the lifeline to get through difficult times. I’d encourage anyone to be both fearless and relentless in the pursuit of their goals; there’s a high level of sacrifice required, and business can be brutal should you be ill-prepared for hardships.
Robert, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
In regards to clientele expansion, quality work has best translated into growth. In my opinion, clients pride themselves in work that properly represents their respective organizations. This sense of pride will motivate clients to recommend you as a trusted resource to anyone they themselves are connected to as well. For this reason, each individual project should be given a great level of attention to detail.
Additional advice concerning growing clientele would be to ensure you are properly positioning yourself as a trusted resource. Specifically in our area, we must be well versed in design and additional areas of the marketing industry.
We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
A philosophy I had to quickly unlearn was assuming, “If you build it, they will come.” Establishing a business is the easy part, however, transforming it into a successful operation takes time and energy. Early on, I assumed Google would work its magic by driving customer traffic, and the money would come pouring in. Boy, was I wrong. Over time, I learned what was actually required to garner attention and seek out the customers that were best fit for the company.
