Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Robert and Jacinta Cox. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Robert and Jacinta , thanks for joining us today. Let’s start with a fun one – what’s something you believe that most people in your industry (or in general) disagree with?
When you become a visionary that believes in the impossibility of the God you serve. You have to trust in the hope that propells your faith. In the word of God it’s knowing that when you operate in what you know is your calling. You have to walk in boldness by standing on the promises of what’s in the written word of God. God is and always has been a God of perfect timing. He has always been intentional about what He does, what He said and what He allows to come forth from His word. God said, let there be… and it was. When we have faith in that and know and trust that if He said it… He will do it in His timing. Don’t just wait, but move in according to what God has promise. Most people don’t believe that or know how to apply faith. It’s an action word that means movement. You have to move to fulfill your calling.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
Faith, Fellowship and Fun (FFF) was founded in 2015. It is a growing faith-based singles ministry that promotes healthy relationships amongst men and women through purity, service and fellowship. The goal is to create an ongoing support system for singles as they navigate through life circumstances using practical and biblical principles. We show support as they establish a personal relationship with Christ and grow more confident in their commitment to living pure. FFF also helps to foster authentic relationships between men and women. We are active in the community through service projects and by hosting social and educational events. The list includes participation in the Atlanta Kidney Walk, Boundaries In Dating book study, community outreach and various events such as “Matters of the Heart” and “Testimony in the Park” and hosted a Purity Conference in 2018.
How’d you meet your business partner?
Robert & Jacinta was attending the same church for a couple of years with no knowledge of each other until October 2015. After a few conversations they discovered they both had a passion for the 30+ singles population. They shared a desire to see adult singles grow stronger in their relationship with Christ, to connect with a community to do life together, as well as to serve others. Faith Fellowship & Fun was birthed out of this passion, but as they formed the ministry and began planning events, it became clearer that there was a greater calling on their lives…..together! God drew their hearts to each other and 5 months after their 1st conversation, they began relating with a purpose. They courted for 18 months and was married on October 7, 2017.
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
When we started planning the first Boundaries in Dating book study in 2017, we needed a space to hold the group meetings. Robert, who attended a weekly men’s group in a Burger King’s small conference room, spoke with the Manager to see if we could use the same space for the book study. At first they were not open to the idea, but Robert was persistent and they finally agreed. After three weeks there, we were blessed to get approved to use one of our churches classrooms for the remaining sessions. This was one of many obstacles that we have faced over the years, but we never gave up because we knew that God had called us to complete the work that he put before us, so He would provide all that was needed.
