We recently connected with Robby Zelz and have shared our conversation below.
Robby , appreciate you joining us today. We’d love to go back in time and hear the story of how you came up with the name of your brand?
I completely agree that naming a brand, can be a real challenge. When I was starting out I knew that I wanted to establish a brand that reflected my style and my approach to design.
I gave it a lot of thought but I decided to use my own name, Robby Zelz. The reason behind this decision was twofold:
first, I wanted to create a personal connection with my clients and customers. Using my own name would help me establish a more direct relationship with them, which I felt was important for building trust and loyalty.
Secondly, I wanted to create a brand that was truly reflective of my unique style and vision. By using my own name, I could ensure that my brand would be a true representation of my work and my creative identity.
Of course, using my own name as my brand name isn’t without its challenges. It can be difficult to separate my personal identity from my brand identity, and there’s always the risk of putting too much emphasis on myself rather than on the work I’m doing.
In the end it’s allowed me to build a solid connection in the industry and communities I’ve worked in over the years.
Robby , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I specialize in a wide range of creative disciplines, including digital art, physical art (such as paintings and sculptures), music, video editing, and fashion design.
I’ve been passionate about art and design for as long as I can remember, and I’ve spent years honing my skills in these various areas. I got my start in the industry by creating digital art, such as logos and designs for brands and musicians. As I gained more experience and exposure, I branched out into other areas, including physical art and fashion design.
One of the things that sets me apart from others in my field is my ability to work in such a wide range of creative mediums. I’m equally comfortable designing a logo for a new brand as I am creating a custom painting or designing a piece of clothing. This versatility allows me to offer a diverse range of products and services to my clients, all while maintaining a high level of quality and attention to detail.
When it comes to the problems I solve for my clients, I think the main thing is that I help them bring their creative visions to life. Whether it’s creating a unique logo for a new business, designing a custom outfit for a client, or producing a high-quality music video, I’m always focused on helping my clients achieve their goals and realize their creative potential.
As for what I’m most proud of, it’s hard to pick just one thing! I’ve had the opportunity to work on so many amazing projects over the years, and each one has been a unique and rewarding experience. I think what I’m most proud of is my ability to continue evolving and growing as a creative artist and designer. I’m always learning new techniques and exploring new mediums, which allows me to offer even more value to my clients.
I want potential clients, followers, and fans to know that I’m a versatile, passionate, and dedicated creative artist and designer. Whether you need a logo design, a custom piece of clothing, or any other type of creative work, I’m here to help you bring your vision to life.

Any thoughts, advice, or strategies you can share for fostering brand loyalty?
There’s a client list I maintain and update regularly, I like to periodically reach out to my clients to check in and see how they’re doing. This not only helps me stay up-to-date on any creative projects they may be working on, but it also shows that I care about them beyond just the work we do together.
I like to send gifts to my clients periodically. These gifts can range from small tokens of appreciation, like handwritten notes or custom stickers, to more substantial gifts like prints of my artwork or custom-designed clothing. I find that these gifts not only help build brand loyalty, but they also serve as a reminder of the high-quality work that I provide.
I also keep an eye out for potential creative projects that I can be a part of, even if the project is being spearheaded by a current client. If I see that a client is working on something that could benefit from my services, I’ll reach out to them and offer my assistance. This proactive approach not only helps me stay top of mind with my clients, but it also shows that I’m always looking for ways to add value to their creative projects.

Are there any books, videos, essays or other resources that have significantly impacted your management and entrepreneurial thinking and philosophy?
As someone who is passionate about business and entrepreneurship, I have spent ALOT of time reading and consuming a wide variety of resources over the years. While I have gained valuable insights from many different sources, there are a few books and individuals that have had a particularly significant impact on my management and entrepreneurial thinking and philosophy.
One of the books that has had a profound impact on me is Robert Greene’s “The 48 Laws of Power”. I find that the insights presented in this book are applicable not only in business but in life as well. Another book that has had a significant impact on my thinking is Niccolo Machiavelli’s “The Prince”, which offers a fascinating look at leadership and power. Sun Tzu’s “The Art of War” is another classic text that I have found to be full of valuable lessons for anyone looking to succeed in business.
More recently, I read Russ’s “It’s All In Your Head”, which explores the importance of mindset and self-awareness in achieving success. I found this book to be incredibly inspiring and it has definitely had an impact on my views towards mindset.
In terms of individuals who have influenced my thinking, Gary Vee is someone who I have learned a lot from over the years. His vlogs about business and entrepreneurship have been incredibly insightful and I have found his advice to be very practical and actionable.
Growing up in a family business has had a profound impact on my own approach to entrepreneurship. I have seen firsthand how a successful business is run and have learned valuable lessons from my family members about the importance of hard work, dedication, and attention to detail.
