Rob, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. What’s been the most meaningful project you’ve worked on?
The most meaningful project that I’ve worked on to date has to be writing and recording my newest single, “Postcard From Heaven”. It’s a song that was written around a phrase that my mother often used referring to something beautiful like a sunset or a sky full of stars at night. My mother passed away two years ago and I wrote this song as a tribute to her after she passed. It also deals with the loss and the longing to be able to speak to her again.
Rob, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I began playing guitar when I was 10 and have had a love for music for as long as I can remember. It began as a result of my mother’s music collection that was always around while I was growing up, and her constantly filling the house with music and making it a huge part of my life from such a young age. I’ve spend a lot of time as a guitar player for other artists in Nashville, and in the past couple years have begun to establish my own identity as an artist/songwriter which is something that I am very proud of.
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
The most rewarding aspect for me is that I get do what I love, and try to connect with and make other people feel the way that the music that has inspired me throughout my life has made me feel. Music is something that my life has always revolved around and has gotten me through countless situations.
Is there mission driving your creative journey?
My goal as an artist is to get my music out to and connect with as many people as possible.
