Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Rob Isquierdo. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Rob, thanks for joining us today. What’s been the most meaningful project you’ve worked on?
I launched a project at Sierra Pacific High School called Mental Health Mondays. This initiative stemmed from the tragic losses I’ve experienced during my time here, including the suicide of my principal, a student from my class, and my best friend’s younger brother. I also lost a student to domestic violence. These experiences highlighted the urgent need for mental health awareness in our community.
To kick off the project, I received bright green wristbands from Kings Behavioral Health Network in Hanford, California. I began distributing these wristbands to teachers, encouraging them to wear them on the first Monday of each month as a non-verbal signal to students that they are approachable and ready to help those in need of mental health support.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I am a nonprofit founder, educator, and social media personality with my own YouTube podcast, RobLive. The podcast features inspirational interviews with individuals who have overcome significant challenges in their lives. Throughout my 21 years in education, I have launched several initiatives that promote education and mental health, including establishing a library for my hometown of London, California, and creating a nonprofit for the small rural community of Stratford. My latest project, Mental Health Mondays, aims to raise awareness about mental health issues in our public schools.
Do you think there is something that non-creatives might struggle to understand about your journey as a creative? Maybe you can shed some light?
One of the greatest lessons I’ve learned from embarking on new projects is that the most important step is simply starting. Many people mistakenly wait for the “perfect” moment or until they feel fully prepared to begin their journey. However, any creative endeavor is meant for exploration and growth along the way. I encourage anyone considering a creative project to just dive in. The answers will reveal themselves as you progress, but nothing can happen until you take that first step.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect of being a creator for me is producing content and programs that benefit others. Each interview on my podcast is crafted for those who may be struggling and looking for inspiration or hope through someone else’s journey. Seeing people respond positively to my work is incredibly fulfilling. I’ve always aspired to create valuable and inspirational content that serves the needs of others.
