We recently connected with RnB Dreams and have shared our conversation below.
Hi RnB Dreams, thanks for joining us today. Naming anything – including a business – is so hard. Right? What’s the story behind how you came up with the name of your brand?
RnB Dreams was a dream we both shared, Rino and Bri. Named after ourselves, RnB also stands for R&B music – a genre we both adored. But it was more than just music to us. We believed that the frequency of music had the power to impact people’s lives in a big way. We were passionate about using music to spread love and positivity amongst listeners. That’s why RnB Dreams was more than just our brand name, it was a mission – to bring love back into the music that touches people’s souls.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
At just 15 years old, I entered the beauty industry with a goal of helping struggling mothers who wanted to look and feel good without breaking the bank. This is why I kept my prices low for years, refusing to let inflation, ego, or experience drive them up. I was determined to provide affordable yet high-quality hair care services to those who needed it most, and my compassion and dedication have helped me build a loyal following over the years. I increased my braiding speed taking only 3.5 hours to braids that most take 8-10 hours to do. Thats one of my biggest advantages in the hair industry here in St Louis Mo.

Going viral with over 7.1 mil views in just 3 months helped RnB Dreams as we were able to make connections we never thought we could make in such a short time. Lots of love and support from the community we serve! Rino is the creative genius in the operation. He sets the tone and I carry out our ideas. His love for music ,as he is a professional recording artist who have worked with thousands , helps our brand.
We offer hair services, lashes, tattoos, photography and more! I also make botanical haircare that has been growing my clients’ hair for years! Its a top seller and Im happy to see where it goes!
We have a sign on our door that reads “ Check your energy at the door”. Meaning, dont come around here messing with our energy. This is a good place filled with good people and we will keep it that way.
Our goal is to give back that old school beauty parlor vibe; from the music selection, the conversations and the affordable prices.

We’d love to hear about how you met your business partner.
So I met Rino virtually in June of 2020 as we both were on a mission to carry out our desires in being business owners but individually. He helped me with a project for my business that I fell in love with and I in returned supported his T shirt business. He then supported my newly made beard oil business. It basically was 2 people that understood what support meant! All we talked about for months was our goals and dreams. No trauma bonding. Just good positive things that helped us on our individual journeys.
We came up with the name RnB Dreams in
Nov of 2020 which was also the name of his album. We manifested so much in this short period of time. I remember saying to him, before I ever seen him face to face, and I quote “ If I make it before you make it, Im bringing you with me”. And here we are, shop owners at RnB Dreams Studio.

We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
Life has many lessons and teachings. I would say that we live in such a judgmental and validating world. I had to separate myself from such norms. I had to learn over time to do exactly what I want to do no matter how that looks to anyone. No matter how anyone feels about it. If it makes me happy, Im doing it. Simply put. Ive been held back a long time, which brought self doubt at times! Im a free spirit at heart and i think that also adds an extra layer to the business side.
Rino’s “learn to unlearn” probably was taking back his power. In life you get so crowded with the expectations of others that you can actually forget about who you are. I think watching his evolution over the past 3 years has been humbling and exciting to see. His strength is inspiring to me.
Collectively, I think we both understand that sometimes things and people arent forever. The ones who clapped for you may be turning their noses at you now that you have made it without their help or congratulations. And still its ok! We are ok with enjoying things and people while it lasts and take the lessons and go when its time. We vibrate high so there is never love lost.
