We were lucky to catch up with RJ Prince recently and have shared our conversation below.
RJ , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. When did you first know you wanted to pursue a creative/artistic path professionally?
The first time I knew I wanted to pursue my entertainment life was at a young age. I’m a son of a Pastor so I was always on stage as a child. I’m a way I felt most comfortable when on a stage.
RJ , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I do stand up comedy and have be doing it since 2012. But I really fell in love with it in 2019. It has become my way of life. There is no better feeling to me than getting on stage and making people forget about there bad day and just laugh.
Looking back, are there any resources you wish you knew about earlier in your creative journey?
I really wish I knew about comedy clubs when I first started. Being a son of a Pastor I did comedy the first 5 years for churches and parties. Doing comedy clubs helped me connect with people who understood me.
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
The pandemic actually helped me reach more people with my comedy. I never did comedy videos on social media but when the pandemic happened I had to get my comedy out some kind of way.
