Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to River Rising . We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi River, thanks for joining us today. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?
My name is River. I’m the founder of The Little Cauldron. I created TLC when my daughter was born allergic to artificial dyes, flavors and fragrances. Our society is so overridden with these three things it is almost impossible to avoid them. They’re in our food, our buildings, cars, and personal care products. While falling down the research rabbit hole, I’ve learned that these ingredients are harmful to our bodies and environment even if we aren’t allergic to them.
TLC ‘s products are free from artificial dyes fragrances and flavors. Our teas are certified organic and grown right in NY, and was of 2024 we are officially 99% plastic free!
My daughter has had such a hard time navigating the world because of her sensitivities and allergies. The products I manufacture and sell make life a little easier for her, and our customers.
River, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My missions explained lost of this, but I’ll go into further detail. I am a 3rd generation traditional herbalist and forager. In 2020 I graduated from the American College of Healthcare Sciences with a diploma in Clinical Herbalism to expand my knowledge of herbs. I’ve spent the majority of the last decade immersing myself in the holistic ways of life that have nearly been lost to our population in the last 100 years and helping women on their fertility journeys as well as overall health.
Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
This question jumped off the page at me. 2023 was my “pivot” in life. I got a divorce. I went from being part time supplemental income to being on my own with 4 kids. I began re-renovating my school bus into a tiny house so that my kids and I could thrive in this ever-changing world of economic collapse.
We will be moving to a farm this June to create a food forest homestead where I can create spaces to educate others on natural living.
How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
Being a long time local on a small town lots of people saw me struggle when my daughter was born and how her constant hives, eczema, skin outbreaks and tummy troubles affected my family. They watched the doctors fail to help for a year, and saw that I created herbal alternatives to help soothe her stomach and skin.
Our community watched in live time how j helped my daughter. People became to come to me with their ailments asking for help with relief.
