Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Rita Daoud. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Rita, appreciate you joining us today. Let’s talk legacy – what sort of legacy do you hope to build?
I hope that I will leave a legacy of love and kindness to everyone that I come in contact with in this life. It’s easy to become hard over time. It takes strength to remain soft and loving, and I hope that’s what I will be remembered for.
Rita, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
My name is Rita:) I’ve been in the Beauty industry for over five years. I started off as a Permanent Makeup Artist. I continued to perfect my skills over the first two years, but I also wanted to expand my services. I decided to attend Esthetician school, and I earned my Master Esthetics license at California Advanced Esthetics here in San Diego. I became obsessed with learning about the skin and the different treatment options available to help women age gracefully and feel confident. It became a passion for me.
Some of the services I offer are Permanent Eyebrow Tattooing, Permanent Eyeliner, Permanent Lip Blushing, along with Medical-Grade Facials, Microneedling, Plasma Skin Tightening, Brow Lamination & Tint, Eyelash Lift & Tint, and Eyelash Extensions.
I would have to say the biggest reward for me is to see my clients faces after a service. It really is life changing for some women to not have to draw in their brows everyday. Something so simple has the ability to sky rocket a person’s confidence level, and to know that I helped with that is everything I could ever hope for in this career.
I hope that every potential client looking to get a service done understands and knows that I put my heart and soul into everything I do. Every client is special to me and I want them to leave feeling better than when they came in. I pray a blessing over each and every client that comes to see me (I do this to myself without them knowing so it’s not weird lol). The fulfillment I get out of making other people happy and feeling good about themselves is more than money can ever buy.
How did you build your audience on social media?
Social media was always something I resisted. I’m more of a private person and I don’t normally share a lot of things online. I quickly learned that this was not going to work for my business and I had to jump on the social media bandwagon. I hired a social media company to help jumpstart my Instagram page. They helped with posting content, creating captions, and timing the posts according to Instagram’s algorithms. All things I had no idea about. They helped me create highlight reels and made my page look uniform. Once my page looked a little more professional and consistent, I took over my own Instagram account. I started to learn the new trends on social media and learned to post WAY more frequently. My followers started to build organically and I’ve been pretty happy with the growth and success of my social media, although there’s always room for improvement!
My biggest advice to anyone just starting a business page on social media would be to post, post, post! People have to see you all the time to remember you. You have to be in their face constantly and eventually, it sticks and when they need that product or service , they’ll know who to call:)
We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
I’d say the pandemic hit hard for many people in the service industry. Being quarantined for so long and not being allowed to be near other people was definitely difficult in my industry, considering the proximity required to perform these services. But I stayed hopeful, and continued to post on social media. I brushed up on my skills and practiced new techniques. I used that time to perfect my craft so when we were able to open up again, I had more knowledge and practice and was able to provide my clients with even better services.
