Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Rigoberto Cortez. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Rigoberto, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Risking taking is a huge part of most people’s story but too often society overlooks those risks and only focuses on where you are today. Can you talk to us about a risk you’ve taken – it could be a big risk or a small one – but walk us through the backstory.
Honestly.
I would say that I am in the middle of that risk right now. Not just me but the whole team and staff is sacrificing time, money, physical, and mental effort in this goal of ours which is to make Real Houston the next professional team in Houston. We are all young and still in the early stages of our club, learning and improving season after season.
We know this could take a lifetime but the one thing that is for sure is that our players and staff, are fully committed to leav a mark in our city by establishing a professional club for future generations.
As long as it continues to be in GOD’s will, Real Houston is here to stay!
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
Pleasure to meet you. I am Rigoberto Jr. Cortez. I enjoy to spend time with my son, train, skateboard, make music, and think of ideas for Real Houston. I love Jesus Christ. I love what I do and do what I love and work day in and day out to hopefully motivate even 1 person out there to chase their dreams. Purpose is bringing value to others so if your dream does that, it is fair to say that in it lays your purpose.
I got into this “industry” of futbol at a very young age. I’ve trained and continue to train this craft and won’t stop unless GOD wants me to because I simply love it.
What we provide to our city through our club is a real professional experience to its athletes. From coaching staff, body maintanence, game analysis, team outings, gym sessions, and community engagement. I believe this club is the foundation of a new era for the culture of this sport in our city.
How did you build your audience on social media?
This year we are actually focusing on building our social media presence heavily. However I will say that the best advice is to not look for excuses as to why you can’t create content for your business. Work with what equipment and ideas you got and if you don’t like what you posted in the future you can always rebrand and delete post!
Do you have any insights you can share related to maintaining high team morale?
Uff honestly. I am 26 years young. I am learning as I go. The biggest experience I have managing and maintaining a team and staff before this is being the captain for my soccer teams.
So keeping that in mind.
You are the example. You have to train the hardest, play the hardest, get rid of fear and doubt in your mind so that even on your bad days you can make the difference.
and most important… without GOD nothing is possible BUT with GOD ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE. I get chills as I type this because it is so true. In those moments of weakness and that you feel lost, unworthy, of low morale let him be your strength and everything will workout for the better one way or the other.
