So, we’d love to get a conversation going around how to best help clients feel appreciated – maybe you can share something you’ve done or seen someone do that’s been really effective at helping a customer feel valued?
We regularly host events such as school supply giveaways, free tattoos for veterans on Veteran’s Day, BOGO promotions, raffles, and weekly discounted sales. These events are our way of showing clients how much we appreciate and value their support. We’re committed to providing top-quality work at fair prices, and in return, we’ve been fortunate to earn loyal clients and steady referrals. Rico, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I’m an award-winning tattoo artist with over 25 years of experience, specializing in realism and neotraditional styles. Together with my wife, we are the proud owners of Envision Tattoo, located in Fayetteville, NC. Art has always been a passion of mine—whether it’s painting, pottery, or pencil sketching.
Getting into the industry, I was lucky, I ran into an old friend, he was a tattoo artist, he connected me with the owner of the studio he worked at. I took my portfolio and met with the owner—and the next day, I started working. By day one, I was tattooing clients. Looking back, I’m filled with gratitude—for that studio owner who gave me a chance, and for the friend who helped open that first door. From there, my journey began to grow.
When my wife and I opened Envision Tattoo, we did it purely on faith. It wasn’t easy—we faced plenty of challenges and obstacles—but through it all, we kept learning, growing, and staying true to our vision. That foundation of trust, passion, and perseverance is what built Envision into what it is today.

We’d love to hear about how you met your business partner.
My business partner is my wife. We share the same vision and goals for the company, which makes collaboration seamless. We spend time brainstorming, talking through ideas, weighing the pros and cons, and once we finalize our direction, we move forward.

Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
In today’s world, having a strong presence on social media is a must for any business. It’s one of the most effective ways to showcase your art, connect with clients and build credibility. Social media platforms allow you to stay top-of-mind in a very competitive market.
