Alright, Rico thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Before we get into specifics, let’s talk about success more generally. What do you think it takes to be successful?

When it comes to being successful, I think of it as one of those situations where it depends on how bad you want it. Of course, it’s easy to want success but what matters the most is the action you’re taking to get there. You have to be willing to put in the work. It won’t be easy but in the end, it will be worth it. You have to be willing to grow. I myself has learned that without growth, there is no progress. Being in that kind of mindset inspires me to go harder with every step I take along my journey.

Rico, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

I have always had a strong passion for graphic design since I was 14. At the time, I was heavily inspired by the many Bebo and MySpace layouts that I saw. What I thought would only just be a hobby and making graphics for my friends turned into something more serious in 2018. That’s when I started my brand CreatedByRB. From then to now, I have progressed my way through the art world creating sports graphics based on various athletes. I am proud to see the growth that I have made as I have taken on new skills along the way and much inspiration from other designers that I look up to. My main goal is to make my way into the sports world creating graphics for a sports team doing what I love!!

Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?

My originality and my ability to stand out with my work speaks for itself. I learned that you have to be willing to step out of the box and be different if you want people to really notice you. At the same time, I learned to not compare myself with others and it has helped me become more confident with what I do. It brought along a sense of knowing that I can give my very best when it comes to creating for others.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?

Honestly, I will say that the most rewarding aspect comes from the growth I have executed through my art. It makes me feel good to see how I progressed. What’s crazy is that when I first started, I didn’t even think I would be this good as I am now. But, I learned that patience and consistency is the key. Even when it comes to everything I have learned so far, I see it as a reflection of how I allowed myself to expand. I’m just proud of myself for sticking to my passion through it all and not giving up.
