Hi Rico, thanks for joining us today. Can you recount a story of an unexpected problem you’ve faced along the way?

Over the last 3 years I was building up my Tiktok page and accumulated over 127k followers! Unfortunately this past month, my account was wrongfully terminated and I had to start over again from scratch. It was extremely frustrating seeing all my hard work just disappear overnight but I have always lived by the saying “everything happens for a reason, good or bad!” So I am not going to let this stop me and I am going to continue right where I left off and surpass my 127k, it’s all just a matter of time. My new tiktok account is @ricochico10

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.

My artist name is Rico and I am from Windsor, ON. I have been making music for the past 4 years and it has shown great results. I actually started making music after being in a few studio sessions with some friends and later being curious and wanting to try it myself. I make very melodic, catchy music that is easy to sing along to. It’s not exactly rap but it’s not exactly R&B either, sort of a mixture between both. Artists similar are Drake & Blxst, so if you enjoy them you’ll love my music!

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?

I built my audience through tiktok and by making very relatable, funny content. The key is to give people something in return for their likes, whether that be entertainment or knowledge. Afterwards, once they cared about my content I would start to integrate my own music, still starting sticking to my original strategy of making it relatable or beneficial to my audience.

What’s been the best source of new clients for you?

The very best source has always been Tiktok. After that instagram reels has also been very beneficial. If you are consistent and post a lot you will see results and new people will discover your brand.
