We recently connected with Richard Turrentine and have shared our conversation below.

Richard, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?

I wanted to build something different. Something that really helped a large group of people. Something fun and exciting! My background is in film/entertainment so I pulled all of my experiences from working in the industry and built the tools and features I felt would help filmmakers.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.

Over the years, I have witnessed so many amazing happenings within the Film industry. As a filmmaker, I aim to create and capture timeless stories that will inspire, inform, and better the world! I am passionate about filmmaking and believe that every creative individual has a particular style that they must be true to. I’ve managed to continue my pursuit of becoming a known filmmaker by creating short films, music videos, and web series. During this process, I’ve had to discuss contractual and creative requirements with clients, film videos, direct camera studio equipment, edit video digitally, and make content tweaks. Filmmaking is a fun, collaborative process that I enjoy, and I couldn’t see myself doing anything else.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?

My journey has been very rocky. Finding the balance of my lifestyle (bills, living, food, etc.) was the struggle. I had to be realistic by getting a job so that I could have the basics covered. Not giving my passion the 100% really took a toll on me but it was needed.

If you have multiple revenue streams in your business, would you mind opening up about what those streams are and how they fit together?

Yes, Screen Indie has multiple revenue streams. Our unique socially-focused streaming experience allows streamers to stream and connect with their favorite indie filmmakers and indie creators to showcase their work. By doing this, we can create a space for emerging filmmakers to increase visibility and online presence on their projects, earn money for their projects, connect with other filmmakers, and more! This and more will allow indie filmmakers to have a more sustainable career within the entertainment business. It also will give them a more streamlined distribution approach to their audiences and own it! Additionally, streamers have access to a plethora of premium content for every genre, demographic, lifestyle, and personality.

Our innovative technology at Screen Indie is different from any other streaming provider. We pride ourselves in taking the extra step into ensuring our partnered filmmakers have the tools needed to succeed within the entertainment industry. In addition, we’ve built a community by allowing streamers to connect and support their favorite filmmakers. Other streaming services just stream, but they’re other elements that could be implemented to help creators. We’ve built it!
