We were lucky to catch up with Richa Kansal recently and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Richa, thanks for joining us today. What do you think it takes to be successful?

To achieve success, it demands a blend of unwavering commitment, perseverance, and an unyielding passion for your craft. Consistency and meticulous attention to detail are vital ingredients in making your work stand out amidst the crowd. Success isn’t a mere destination; it’s an ongoing journey that I embrace by setting personal goals and actively pursuing them. Moreover, successful individuals are marked by their dedication to perpetual growth and personal development. They harbor an innate curiosity, adapting to new information and actively seeking opportunities to broaden their knowledge and skills. Embracing calculated risks is another facet—they involve stepping out of comfort zones, seizing opportunities, and facing uncertainty head-on. In my own endeavors, I often delve into new ideas during my sessions, welcoming the results as they provide fresh insights, sometimes bringing about wow moments or simply adding to the tapestry of learning experiences.
I am constantly striving for perfection and the satisfaction that comes from knowing I have given my all. I owe a debt of gratitude to my clients and cherished friends whose unwavering support and consistent appreciation have been invaluable on this journey. I sincerely thank all of my clients. Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

My name is Richa Kansal. I am a wife, a Mom of amazing twins and a fluffy fur-baby. Kansals Photography is how most people are familiar with me. In Atlanta, Georgia, I am the owner and operator of a photography studio. My true passion in life is to capture and freeze time. I enjoy shooting a wide range of sessions and have a special love for photographing newborns, expecting moms, and kids. My art and style are defined by my attention to detail, creativity, and perfection. Colors have always captivated me ,you will find my work filled with colors, I style my sessions where colors play an integral part!

My creative side has always been more dominant in me since I was a young child. I have always loved building and creating things, so I chose to enroll in the School of Architecture in order to graduate at the top of my class with a bachelor’s degree. My ability to think creatively has improved over the years of dedication. I’ve gained knowledge on how to bring ideas to life and add depth and detail to my photographs. Because it gives me something to strive for, a way to move forward, and brings out the best in me, creativity is what makes me thrive. Each session is creatively designed based on client’s preferences, while maintaining my artistic vision and each and every picture which I deliver is handcrafted with utmost care and precision before handed over to my clients.

I have clients coming from different ethnicities to the studio for the session. Customizing the specific needs and basis of clients coming from different ethnicities and communication on the same is what I have learnt and developed on through these years. I am blessed to have clientele from diverse ethnicities, it adds variety to my portfolio.

I am extremely happy and grateful to be surrounded by a fantastic group of people who believe in my work and spread positive words about my company. I’m pleased with the expression that conveys my client’s satisfaction in both words and eyes. It gives me a sense of worth and completeness. I will never take my clients’ trust in me for granted, and I promise to always put my heart and soul into my work.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?

Being an artist means putting your best foot forward every day and to create things that make a difference; whether that difference is for you, or for others. Witnessing your own growth as an artist is one of the most rewarding parts of being an artist. An artist’s world is a world where everything is an idea or possibility for new art. As an artist, you are never at a loss for inspiration. Everything you see, think, and experience has the potential to inspire your next artistic creation. Graduating from the School of Architecture has helped me in learning and crafting the creative side of me. I’ve gained knowledge on how to bring ideas to life which has helped in adding depth and detail to my photographs.
Additionally, the impact on others is often cited as a rewarding aspect. I find joy in knowing that my work resonates with people, elicits emotions, and even inspires others. Connecting with the audience and contributing to the cultural or emotional landscape is profoundly satisfying. Knowing that you were responsible for making someone else happy is one of the most fulfilling feelings we can experience. Your art can truly make someone’s day and quite possibly more than that even.
Creating portraits that adorn my clients’ walls, cherished for a lifetime, evokes the most incredible feeling – a joy that words can hardly capture.

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?

It takes time and consistent effort to build a reputation. I work hard to produce high-quality work that reflects my distinct style. I specialize in newborn, child, and maternity photography in-studio. I have compiled a professional and diverse portfolio of my best work. By regularly updating the portfolio and sharing behind-the-scenes content, client testimonials, and other engaging material, I have established a strong online presence through social media platforms. My work has been recognized and published in numerous reputable magazines, both locally and globally. This serves as a visual resume, allowing potential clients to see my personality and abilities.
Aside from my strong technical expertise and editing skills, I believe that what truly distinguishes me from other photographers is my ability to connect with people. I believe in providing excellent customer service and maintaining open lines of communication with my clients. Being professional, responsive, and accommodating to the needs of my clients has resulted in positive word-of-mouth recommendations. These positive responses have increased my clients’ trust and credibility.
I am truly grateful to all of my wonderful clients who have been so encouraging and have spread the word about my work to their family and friends.
