Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Rich Habits . We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Rich , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today We’d love to hear how you think where to draw the line in terms of asking friends and family to support your business – what’s okay and what’s over the line?
Your closes family may support and some friends but it’s always the outsiders that support and show the most love. Which bothered me at first that some of the people that I always knew our was around and supported never supported me. Now I just go with the flow doesn’t matter who supports or not that motivates me the most yo keeping going.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
I’m a Philadelphia native came up kinda rough but managed to overcome the odds and stay on track. I attended university high school and later attended Penn state. Throughout the years I would do sides jobs with my uncles or coming up with something I could do on my own to make ends meet. Learned the value of a dollar at a young age which kept me wanting to find more and more ways to become successful in life. Started learning stocks and had a friends uncle show me a little about real estate and just investing period. As I grew older and say that I was able to create a use the life skills I learned and seen the things I was able to do and the ideas I was able to come up with that became profitable. Now pushing 40 I own property in Detriot (Building Better Communities) a real estate company (Richabits enterprise) in Philadelphia and also a vending company(Tasteful Habits Vending) and a film company (Creative Habits Productions) with long time friend.
Can you talk to us about your experience with buying businesses?
When I 1st purchased my vending machines and actually got into business I wasn’t thinking about myself my main focus was getting the machines in locations learning the business and passing it down to my son once he’s able to run the business on his own. One thing for sure the vending business isn’t as easy as it seems, finding inventory for the right prices finding locations that’s gonna have a lot of traffic. Only been on business for a year in a half with the vending machines and still have a lot to learn but one thing I can say if it’s done right it can be life changing to some
How’d you meet your business partner?
New my business partner with my film company (Creative Habits Productions) for over 15 years lost touch for some time but one of my closest friends was telling me about how he was in the works of doing a film and needed help, so I reached out and the rest is history. Back in 2018 we had are 1st short film in AMC Theather in Philadelphia and Times Square, due to Covid the momentum of everything slowed down. But now we are in the works of producing our first major film with a great cast that will be most likely complete around 23/24
