Hi Ricardo , thanks for joining us today. We’d love to hear the backstory behind a risk you’ve taken – whether big or small, walk us through what it was like and how it ultimately turned out.
As a hardworking professional for 25 years taking small risks, I’ve gained international prominence through my work. Then, I felt I was ready to take another step in my career. I decided to take a more significant risk moving to the USA to open the American market.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers?
I’m Ricardo Rodrigues, a product designer, and architect. Growing up in a small village in the countryside of Brazil, my passion for design started at a young and, and I fulfilled my dream when I graduated in Product Design and Architecture. After 25 years of working in Brazil, owning my own brand of kitchen products and an architecture office, I knew it was time to experience other markets. Then, I invited my family to move to the USA.
With me, I’ve brought all my knowledge and a small product line with the ambition to open the American market and succeed.
Our products are simple yet distinctive. Eco Friendly, we only use certified materials from renewable resources. Sustainable, we support small and local vendors, working together to bring and share value: fresh design and eye-catching products. The concept of my work is to create well-thought and distinctive Home & Kitchen products that bring friends and family together, bringing the latest trends in serveware to their homes. Our design is unique, made of aluminum and details in wood and leather.
As an architect, my mission is: to invite people to live and enjoy life with functional designs that simplify modern life. My main goal when working on an architectural project, whether residential or commercial, is to make it fit the lifestyle and needs of people and create a relaxing environment. Projects focused on efficient building methods, high energy performance, low energy consumption, and sustainability.
Is there a mission driving your creative journey?
Growing into the American market, whether in architecture or design, my goal is to continue to reflect my Brazilian roots. We strive to design products that will help create pleasant moments and long-lasting memories, contributing to enjoying the simple things in life. Things like comfortable living, welcoming people, and caring about people, are all common characteristics in Brazil that make my designs unique with a strong personal touch.
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
We only use certified materials from renewable resources. And we support small and local vendors. Our customers love our products! We know it as they are saying so many good things about us when reviewing their purchases, or the exclusive architecture projects, I design for them..
