We recently connected with Ricardo & Desiree Jaimes and have shared our conversation below.
Ricardo & Desiree , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Alright, so we’d love to hear about how you got your first client or customer. What’s the story?
Wow, as we look back God is grand. We drove through neighborhoods with flyers my wife would jump out and do one side of the street while I did the other. It took forever to get a call back, during the wait we were let down and felt defeated, but we keep a strong mindset and kept going. I’m glad we did. Now we have close to 70 maintenance properties and are pursuing our hardscape business!

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
We joined the landscape business because I have always had a passion for it. I was actually working for a company for about 7 years before I ventured off on my own. My wife would push me, telling me let’s start our own business so one day we just went full force. It takes a lot of strength to be in this industry. To being out in the heat and freezing cold all day. You have got to really really want it. We always say it’s not on you it’s in you. We strive hard to make our clients happy, in our world we call it under promise and over deliver. Looking back we are absolutely proud of our accomplishments. This is just the beginning!

Can you tell us the story behind how you met your business partner?
My wife and I met in Dallas Tx, from the first day we met we we have been inseparable. We decided to pick up and move to Georgia where my parents lived for more support and stability. It’s been a blessing ever since. We are happily married and have 5 beautiful children.

Can you talk to us about how your side-hustle turned into something more.
Before we started our landscape business. I was working full time for a landscape company. When we decided we wanted to be our own boss I would work M-F for the company and I would work Sat-Sun on my own business so I would literally work 7 days a week. Sometimes I would even go to work after work to catch up if we had rain. It was the toughest most strengthening thing I’ve had to do but, when you want bigger and better you have to sacrifice. Nothing good comes easy.
