We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Rhonda Wilson. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Rhonda below.
Rhonda , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Do you think your parents have had a meaningful impact on you and your journey?
Both of my parents were very hard worker, the instill a great work ethic within me.

Rhonda , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I am a married mom of one Son also have one bonus daughter. I have 24 years of nursing experience and I am currently a Nurse Case Manager for Travelers, and I’m also the founder of a Nursing Organization called Buffalo Black Nurses Inc. Buffalo Black Nurses provides leadership development, mentorships and scholarships to our members. We also are active in the community providing community service to the underserved populations in Buffalo. Our current initiative is CPR, our goal is to teach hands only CPR to 2500 community members.

How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
Buffalo Black Nurses was not always “Buffalo Black Nurses” we originated as Black Nurses Rock Buffalo, we were apart of a national nurses organization. In 2020 during the pandemic we realized that our greatest need was here in our own community. We took time off (Nurses were working nonstop) and we regrouped and separated from the national organization and rebranded as Buffalo Black Nurses Inc, to focus on our own local community health needs and the needs of the nurses within our community.

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
I stayed consistent and visible, everyone I talked to learned about Buffalo Black Nurses. The organization started with 10 nurses and kept going with those 10. It continued to grow bigger and bigger, and I always maintained a healthy environment. I also stopped to talk with anyone who was interested in the organization to tell them more about it and debunk any myths that they may have heard. I also had a great team along side me who shared similar interest in uplifting our community and that really helped me build a unshakable foundation.
