Alright, Rhonda thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Alright, so we’d love to hear about how you got your first client or customer. What’s the story?
I made a decision to return to college in 2018 with a goal to obtain a new degree in Mass Communications with an emphasis in Strategic Communication. At the start, I was primarily focused on acquiring knowledge and skills which would be universally applicable in serving a wide variety of personal and business needs. During my internship, I had the opportunity to work with clients like the Boys & Girls club and help them achieve their business objectives. In 2007, I established a non profit organization, Sister Friends United Inc. with the purpose of “empowering women” to provide better community service. In 2021, under the umbrella of the non profit organization we expanded to host the inaugural Girlfriends conference with a goal to pair the activities of a girls trip with impactful empowerment sessions. Because of my business competence, I was able to establish a connection with my first client at the conference. It gave me an opportunity to build my portfolio and experience to work my first rebrand campaign. I’ve managed to help a lot of businesses in their successful launches, rebrandings and events. In January 2023, I officially announced the launch of my agency, BL Brand Public Relations Agency.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I am Rhonda Aaron, the CEO of the BL Brand PR Agency, a boutique public relations and communications agency specializing in entertainment, lifestyle and luxury services and products. We put immense amounts of effort into producing great results for our clients. Through a wide range of services, we provide strategic guidance by coming up with the right solution for each client we serve to yield the maximum results. We connect media with brands and brands with customers.

Our Small Business is an industry and community leader, and it’s because of the hard work we put into helping each and every one of our business partners reach their goals. Our goal is to put our knowledge and experience to the test with every project undertaken. We provide strategic advice through a wide range of services, such as producing different types of news releases, planning events, advertising opportunities and more.
How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
I built my reputation and organization on 5 foundational principles- consistency, trust, communication, commitment and teamwork.
Consistency- It is essential that the level of services does not vary from one quality to another.
Trust- Develop a reputation which is credible, building a trustable brand.
Commitment- I am dedicated to my business every day, going out of my way and giving my clients the best service.
Communication- Clear communication with the client is a key part of my business, understanding their goals and requirements for doing business.
Teamwork- The ability of the team to work in cooperation is a priority for servicing any client, we need to be an integrated group.
I built my own company from those five principles, which are helping me create a reputation in the business world.
Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
Word of Mouth (WOM) marketing has been my primary source for gaining new clients. It’s an honor to know that my clients refer me to others based on their experience working with me. WOM marketing is one of the most powerful forms of advertising as 88% of consumers trust their friends’ recommendations over traditional media. I’m trying to exceed my clients’ expectations, provide good customer service, and give exclusive information to potential customers. In connecting with possible new clients, I have used different marketing techniques such as Social Media Marketing, Group Zoom Workshops and Local Event Mixers.
