We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Rhena Bundick. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Rhena below.
Rhena, appreciate you joining us today. Have you ever had an amazing boss? What did you learn from them? Maybe you can share a story that illustrates the kind of boss they were or maybe you can share your thoughts on what you think made them an awesome person to work for?
The best boss I ver had was actress, dancer, choreographer, singer-songwriter, director, producer, Debbie Allen. First let me say this woman is tough but for all of the right reasons. She knows how to bring the best out of you! She’s tough because she see’s your potential. Her job is to bring that out of you. If she’s not seeing that, She will push you until she does. Although at times I was very intimidated, I leaned into what she was pouring into me and I am a better dancer and artist because of her.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
My name is Rhena Skye Bumdick. I am a Actress/Dancer/Choreographer/Personal Trainer In Atlanta GA.

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
When I first started uploading content I was pretty much all over the place. I was also very inconsistent with how often I was uploading. At that time, I didnt know the importance of knowing who my audience was and that they were actually looking for specific content from me. The most important thing to remember is knowing your audience so that you know who to target and what to post. I know my audience, I know what they like, and what they expect or enjoy seeing from me so I give them that. You have to remember .. that’s why they are following you in the first place. You have to be consistent and try not to be all over the place with your content. Once you build a following people expect to see certain things from you, if your all over the place and it’s not clear who you are and what your presenting, People will lose interest fast.

We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
The lesson that I had to unlearn was, to stop pouring into people’s dreams that won’t do the same for you! . The truth is.. what I’ve done and will do for people isn’t always reciprocate. I had to learn to focus on my own dreams. I have had situations where I’ve helped people start their business, make flyers, as well as social media content. If for some reason I am not able to help them at the time that they need me, I don’t hear from them anymore. I was allowing myself to feel hurt by them instead seeing the situation for what it truly was. When your free and available to help people, They love you and your work. If for some reason you can’t help them at that specific time, They will just write you off and find someone else to do it as if you’ve never helped them. It was a very hard lesson to learn, but I got it!
