Hi Rhea, thanks for joining us today. How did you come up with the idea for your business?

The narrative was clear when more than 5 talented, educated, well over qualified women were not get call backs from interviewers, When they had everything to offer but are only getting rejected or not given the opportunity because of the 1% I know it all attitude. Its not about just color or race here anymore, its about a bugger diaspora here. My act only started with a targeted audience of women in Clinical research because of the ease of access I could get a hold on to instantly- But my fight is bigger than an ethnic race or creed and color here, its about the stigmatization Asian women go through all their lives behind the closed doors, hidden tears, scars and the fights they put up with on a daily basis – sexual abuse as a child, girl rape, rape in a marriage, dowry, emotional backlash and more that they early on are asked to not speak about and just stay quiet. Because of what society may think of them. This Initiative desiwoman.ai was developed and designed keeping all of the above in mind that somehow somewhere, one woman can stand up and make some noise and the world will hear her scars of childhood trauma that she wears of as a smile on a daily basis when she heads boardroom meetings and work with addicts and alcoholics off the street in rehabs to show them a holistic way of life. DesiWoman.AI is not just an endeavor to help women , it is a noise machine for the bigger sharks and philanthropists to show alignment to help us make a difference that can be significant and measured.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.

Desiwoman.ai is an initiative powered by the NGO GPSF Global 501 c3, that helps women build and navigate their lives through – career counseling, mentorship, holistic therapy, 12 step program of recovery and rehabilitation and more depending on what walk of life they are coming from. Our community or clients are mainly south asian women, in STEM, Medicine, IT and/OR veterans, drug addicts, alcoholics, women suffering from mental health problems, legal issues, financial crisis etc.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?

Moved to states 6 years ago with one suitcase and a bunch of documents, battling addiction, zero bank balance, no home, no spouse no support, a tourist visa and a failed marriage of dowry of 20 days behind. I had tears and fear every time someone occurred my name and asked me if I was ok and If I wanted to eat or sleep. The nights turned into months and the addiction only spiraled and took its course to the worst, next thing I know is I have a DUI. This girl still dont stop, worked warehouse jobs, waitressing, cleaning bathrooms, to a point where her own parents refused her life or death. It was then in that moment a breakthrough happened and I decided to go to some rehab that could take me without insurance for free and just keep me. Things look different today. From a bunk bed 14 girls one bathroom rehab to Sugarland, the journey took a lot of work, resilience, handwork, patience, tolerance, tears and more over faith.

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?

Linkedin became my platform and I channeled desiwoman.ai page from there where I started offering free one on one discovery calls that turned into mentorship sessions for hour long conversations and story tellings. Each one with their own struggles and challenges and hidden stigmas that I faced nearly all my life growing up as well. I started taking these calls more seriously and thats when I decided to launch my website and make it more accessible to women for free to reach me for guidance and support. We are now a community of almost 1800 women on LinkedIn which is all organic, as I can say I have taken almost 5-8 calls per day during my full time job on the side
