We were lucky to catch up with Rhea A Manning recently and have shared our conversation below.
Rhea A, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today So, let’s start with trends – what are some of the largest or more impactful trends you are seeing in the industry?
The current trend I see in my industry is clients /customers wanting to create individual experiences. My business as an example, we created a Hat Bar experience built around the client/customers. The Rowdy Society’s Hat Bar’s clients/customers are involved in the creative process of making their own one of a kind hat. We will assist them by picking their hat color, patches, and/or chains. We then place all items selected by client/customer together for them on their chosen hat. The whole experience gives us an opportunity to get to know our customers, engage with them, and not treat them as simple transaction. We’ve really thrived and enjoy creating this individual experience with them.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
My name is Rhea and I’m the owner of The Rowdy Society. We have been in business for almost two years and have been excited every moment on it. The Rowdy Society started off selling fun/sassy
t-shirts that were created by acid washing. This gave the t-shirts more of a grunge look. July of 2023 , The Rowdy Society launched our very first trucker hat bar. This created a fun and one of a kind experience with our customers. The events we attend cater towards theme of the event. We provide our trucker hat bar, western hats, denim bar, t-shirt bar, and boot branding. This creates a buzz of fun , excitement and positive atmosphere. This experience leaves everyone engaged with the experience and feeling happy with their one of a kind product.
My years of working in the Hospitality have really allowed me to provide exceptional customer service. Listening to the want and need is key to my success and producing this one of a kind experience. I’m so extremely proud I took a huge leap of faith and started this business. It truly has been a blast.

Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
During the pandemic is when I had a major pivot in my career and life. I worked corporate America my entire life but during the pandemic being let go from my job and not knowing what to do next was terrifying. I started my business randomly on a Wednesday when I was experimenting and creating my own shirts from home. I had a friend see my shirt and she wanted one. Then encouraged me to share them online and my business was created from there.

Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
The most effective strategy is TAKE THE TIME TO GET TO KNOW YOUR CUSTOMERS! Don’t treat them as just a sale. There are so many tools and ways to collect information for you to get to know your customers. You leave a memorable impression on them and they will turn around and bless you by spreading/sharing your business.
