We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Reyna Olea. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Reyna below.
Reyna, appreciate you joining us today. We’d love to have you retell us the story behind how you came up with the idea for your business, I think our audience would really enjoy hearing the backstory.
Present Moment Living was born from a deep inner realization: that each moment carries its own unique depth, and within it lies the potential to springboard us in any direction we choose. For many of us, the belief systems we inherit—whether from childhood or society—teach us to live on the surface of time, moving to the rhythm of “doing,” checking off the never-ending to-do list. This leaves a subtle, sometimes loud, emptiness inside us, and for many, tangible tools to navigate this emptiness are lacking. In the absence of these tools, we soothe ourselves in ways that may not be optimal, deepening the loop of dissatisfaction.
In the midst of my own life’s upheavals, I discovered the transformative power of Qigong. Beyond simple breathing techniques, it engaged the body, heart, and mind as a holistic healing system. I watched firsthand how this practice could shift energy, calm the nervous system, and open the way to genuine presence. I realized that while the wellness world offered countless fragmented solutions, few approached healing in a way that fully integrated mind, body, and spirit—and that’s the gap I wanted to fill.
The particular system I share is a modernized form of Qigong, designed to be seamless and woven into daily life. What excited me most—and what continues to inspire me—is seeing people reclaim their vitality, step into their power, and feel fully supported in their healing process. Present Moment Living is not just a business; it’s a lived philosophy and a practical pathway for living fully, consciously, and deeply in every moment.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I was born in Tijuana, Mexico, and just three months later, my parents immigrated to the United States. Growing up, they instilled in me a strong work ethic, discipline, and a deep appreciation for my heritage, along with the importance of giving back. This value of service led me to volunteer work, including hospice care, where I first encountered Qigong. The moment I experienced it, something shifted—I felt an opening in my body, heart, and mind, as if a new dimension of myself had been revealed. I knew immediately that I would devote my life to learning and sharing this practice.
Since 2009, I have studied Zhineng Qigong, accumulating over 5,000 personal practice hours and more than 1,500 hours in retreats with Master Teachers around the world. I’ve shared this practice in the US and Europe and am now expanding offerings to Spanish-speaking students.
Zhineng Qigong aligns body, heart, and mind through meditation, fluid movement, chanting, self-massage, and focused intention. What moves me most is how it mirrors the rhythms of nature, teaching us to respond consciously rather than react automatically. Through practice, we learn to clarify intention, strengthen will, and access both healing and our broader human potential.
To make this practice accessible, I offer classes, workshops, retreats, and private sessions. Every new student can start with a free 30-minute session, and Qi Team members enjoy unlimited classes, discounted private sessions, and full access to a video library. My intention is simple: to support others in discovering the transformative power of this practice and nurturing their capacity for growth, healing, and presence.

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
What helped me build my reputation within my market was wholehearted dedication to the practice. I immersed myself fully, committing to consistent study and maintaining close relationships with my Master Teachers. They recognized my dedication and my calling to teach this living art, and they opened doors that allowed me to grow as a teacher—supporting me to assist in their classes, lead workshops, and eventually guide ten-day retreats internationally.
Through these opportunities, I gained not only experience but also the trust and respect of students and peers around the world. Being present, reliable, and deeply engaged in every teaching and retreat built my credibility. Over time, I became known as a teacher who honors the integrity of the system while making it accessible and transformative for each person who practices. I am humbled and honored to be recognized as one of the faces of this system, and I continue to build my reputation by sharing the practice with authenticity, care, and consistency.

Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
The most effective strategy for growing my clientele has been giving people a firsthand experience of the practice through monthly free sessions in English and Spanish. By creating a strong Qi field and guiding participants through practical tools for in-the-moment healing, they feel the benefits immediately. This direct experience builds trust and connection, showing the transformative potential of the practice and naturally encouraging continued learning through classes, workshops, and private sessions. https://presentmomentliving.org/harness-your-qi/
