We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Rex Dsouza a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Rex , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Can you open up about a risk you’ve taken – what it was like taking that risk, why you took the risk and how it turned out?
So I am from a very lower middle class family and I was always been told I need to get a job whcih would give me stable pay..But I wanted to be a singer performer and I started off working at a call center doing night shifts and performing in small gigs for 100 indian rupees that is around 1 dollars right now..My dad didn’t appreciate me singing in shows but then I got into this reality show auditioned and my life changed in 6 months..That was risk taken by me but it worked well for me I ended up being the runner up for the reality singing show called fame gurukul and now I am Travelling the world doing what I live the most.. Singikg and performing for people around the world

Rex , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My name is Rex dsouza and I am from Mumbai india..I have been singing since the age of 5 and the 1st gig I ever did was when I was 15 years old..I participated in a reality show in india and that’s how I started doing good shows and made a name for myself..
My main motive always has been to entertain my audience not just sing and that’s one reason people love me and book me for thier events be it a personal or corporate one..
I am proud about the fact that I took a risk in life to go for my passion versus just doing a job which paid me stable money..
I love singing performing and Travelling around the world..this gives me an appurtunity to connect to people in certain ways to meet new people and make some of them my friends..

Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
One thing I know for sure is that never just give up your passion..I believe everyone should try atleast once for thier passion and never give up on that..I did that..Working in a call center for 5 years and doing night shifts but also doing small gigs all around mumbai to make sure I met some People and took risks that I wanted to learn to perform
On stage..

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
I believe as a performer I know that only singing cannot connect me to the audience I believe in performing and entertaining while singing as well..I love to connect to the Audience and engage with them in every way..
