We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Reverend Rita M. Henderson a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Reverend Rita, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today.  Let’s start with the story of your mission.  What should we know? 

On Monday, July 18, 2011 as I was driving away from my good government job at 5 p.m. I heard the voice of God and He said Daughter when you drive away from here today don’t you ever drive back here again and I promise you Rita that if you will take care of my business that I will take care of all of your business.

From that day to this one some almost 12 years later I never drove back to that job.

On that day I was in over 100k of debt, going through a divorce, bankruptcy, my home was in foreclosure and my car got repossessed.

I had been an employee for 26 years and I was still living a just over broke life until that everything changed for me. It is when I begin what I call this Jesus Journey and what I was noticed that was bothering me in the Church was how the Five Fold Ministers those are the Apostles, Prophets, Evangelist, Pastors and Teachers were called as Servant Leaders but were still tied to jobs. So I would watch them do great ministry, do great church work. However, some would have to leave the pulpit and drive uber, lyft, door dash and such.

One of my first attempts at being an Entrepreneur since coming off the job in 2011 was I wanted to start a movement called Monetize Your Ministry and just the name alone got a lot of what we call side eyes from the church. If I could say so myself, it was a bit radical for 2016 and to be very transparent, I didn’t have the confidence that I do today and so I sold the domain name and for 18 months I straddled the fence.

All I knew at that time is that I have a passion to help church ministers and leaders to generate passive recuring revenue. However, I didn’t know exactly what things were to be monetized and what things were considered spiritual.

Those 18 months were painful I was frustrated to say the lest then God spoke to me one day concerning the matter. He said, if its a gift it is to be given and if it is a talent and/or skill then you can charge for it and He reminded me of the Parable of the Men with the talents found in Matthew 25: 13-40. God gave me the revelation that resulted in the clarity I needed to move forward and start my business, Five Fold Publishing LLC.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.

I am Reverend Rita Monique Henderson, Speaker, Self-Publishing Book Coach, the CEO of Five-Fold Publishing LLC and an Award Winning four-time Amazon Best-Selling International Author.

Now, outside of the titles and accolades, I’m a faith-fueled woman on a divine assignment to provide Christian ministers and leaders with the publishing strategies, guidance and resources they need to turn their stories into influential, income-producing books that impact the world.

I am most proud of (picture included) of the many Christian ministers and leaders that we have help to identify the transformational message of their trauma and have gone on to build, business, brands and ministries, to get in front of the men and women that they are called to serve. Our Authors Hall of Fame, this wall host a few of the pictures of the many Christian ministers that we have served since being in business.

Last quarter we introduced our Already Done For You Journals, Planners and Notebooks these have been a game changer. For three years I have built Five Fold Publishing LLC helping authors to write and self-publish their books and we still do that, okay! But we’ve come up with these Already Done For You Pre Made Books for easy publishing to Amazon which allows the author to go from idea to income in less than 2 hours and a much smaller investment.  The investment is such that if you wanted to give away these books you could use them as a way to engage with your audience and build the know, like and trust factor.  True game changer for aspiring authors.

This new line of Personalize and Publish products came from an idea I had a little over a year ago to create one buyer only pre made books. But I had no clue on how to get it done, I was even successful and sold a few of these books in 2021 but it wasn’t until I collaborated with a team of experts to help me pull the trigger on this idea fully this year and it has been an immediate success.

We’re literally a one-stop shop for faith-fueled publishing. Our clients have the divine gift to transform lives and we’re here to position them to reach the people who need them most – no matter where they reside.

Where do you think you get most of your clients from?

Collaborations for sure has been the best source by connecting with other business owners, experts and influencers. See its not what you say about your business its what others say about your business that matters most. By establishing meaningful aligned collaborations allows me the opportunity to leverage their networks, platforms, expertise and resources which has significantly increased our brand awareness and has been great for attracting new clients to our business and has added directly to our bottom line.

How did you build your audience on social media?

I heard a Social Media Influencer say that in order to have a six figure business you need to connect with 1,000 true fans. So I grew my Facebook group The Christian Authors Self-Publishing Support Group organically to its first 1,000 members that took me about 6 weeks, currently there are 1,432 members inside.

When I think about it now it was really good growth in a matter of weeks I didn’t use any ads or any other paid marketing. The key is to have a good lead magnet. I created our 5 Day FREE Book Writing Challenge for that membership drive and we are still using it today to drive traffic into the group.

You definitely want to build a community preferably somewhere private where you can nurture, add value and get your ideal clients used to buying from you.
