Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Revathi Naidu. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Revathi , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. What’s the backstory behind how you came up with the idea for your business?

I’ve been In Dallas since 2006 and in the education field throughout my career, have been fortunate enough to have experience in setting up and managing multiple daycare organizations with after-school programs. I managed operations as a Center director and was privy to all management decisions, and staffing including financials and payroll. I have also worked with Frisco and Prosper ISD supporting elementary grade students. I have always visualized this idea and concept of blending early childhood education with outdoor activity and sports. In my view, the goal for the 2- 5-year-old kids is not to prepare them only for elementary school academically but to make sure they are creative, happy, active, communicating, and responsible individuals.

This age group of children is meant to focus on making friends, communicating, being active, getting creative, exploring the outdoors, and being able to manage risk. Having said that this is not typical across the Montessori’s in the US but truly is a differentiator for our Montessori and after-school setup.

The concept to realization was difficult and meant a new and different kind of space layout for the Montessori and afterschool, so we designed one that lends itself to an environment where we have brighter, spacious classrooms with a more open concept in higher ceilings, open gym area indoor and outdoor and multiple activity station setups that will help kids spend more time outside the classrooms as against only indoor and in classrooms. I was lucky to get this designed and built with the required specs., a setup that has helped me realize my unique approach to helping social growth, emotional development, health, well-being, and building the overall personality of kids. You must see it to believe it.

Revathi , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

As the owner and Director at Richwoodsacademy , I am proud to provide a platform for young children to explore their potential not only academically but physical and mental development too. The academy provides children a ecosystem where they can explore different extra circulum be it sports , robotics , arts , dance or music.

We’d love to hear about how you met your business partner.

The cofounder and my my business partner , Hitesh Naidu is my life partner too. We are in this together starting from planning , making a business plan, looking for a appropriate place for our academy and making our dream come true .
Our struggle was not easy , and COVID was a major hurdle in our initial journey of our academy.
But we took it as an challenge and made that hurdle make it work in our favor..
They were some major decisions that we as business partners took and implemented it to sail through tough times .

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?

Our hard work and our effort to provide an excellent service to young children has helped our business to grow through positive reviews and word of mouth through our customers .
