We were lucky to catch up with Reonda Thompson recently and have shared our conversation below.
Reonda, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Alright, let’s jump into one of the most exciting parts of starting a new venture – how did you get your first client who was not a friend or family?
I got my first client by advertising on Craigslist. I advertised about my Poetry Writing Service and this guy responded. He wanted a romantic poem for his girlfriend. I asked him to tell me things about his girlfriend. Where they met? Eye color? Why he loved her? After getting specific answers I was about to create a unique poem just for her. He loved it.
I felt proud! Proud that took a risk, and proud that I was able to make someone happy with my words.

Elaborate Poetic Expressions is a Poetry Writing Service where I write poetry for different occasions and possibly recite the poem for you in person if you’d like.
I work alone, and use my creativity and expertise to put the perfect poem on paper.
The poem is written the same day and not given to you until you are absolutely satisfied.
I email or text the poem to you, or I can put the poem in the mail and send it to you.
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
I am very resilient, because I don’t have every day customers, but I keep writing. I keep trying to spread the word about my business.
From the beginning, I have posted about my business on YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, word of mouth, posted fliers.
My business is new. I am hopeful that I’ll build up a clientele.
For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
The most rewarding part of writing is that I am becoming better than ever. I have the opportunity to meet people and working in a different capacity.
With my imagination, dedication, skill, and love for the written word I can impact people for the rest of their lives.
