We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Rennee Johnson a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Rennee, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Let’s talk legacy – what sort of legacy do you hope to build?
I aim to leave a legacy that resonates through the ages, inspiring countless generations. I hope to demonstrate that one’s beginnings do not dictate one’s future; rather, it is the choices we make and the resilience we show that truly shape our narratives. I want my story to serve as a powerful reminder that anyone can rise above their circumstances and create a meaningful life, full of purpose and impact.
What do you hope to be remembered for?
I want to be remembered for helping people overcome challenges that could have destroyed them. I hope to be remembered for loving my family and creating cherished memories. I want others to recall my journey of overcoming suicidal attempts and to show my family that with God by your side, you are never alone and there is always hope. I aspire to be remembered as a woman of prayer who loved God with all my heart.

I launched Inspiring2live after going through one of the hardest 40 days. Four close family members passed away, and I needed a way to heal, and Inspiring2live was birthed. I began recording moments that would encourage and strengthen others. While dealing with my own pain and while taking a break, it helped me to focus. While focusing, I was able to design my perfume, ABC affirmation cards, and launch a new brand called Inspiring2live. I launched Inspiring2Live after experiencing one of the most challenging periods of my life—40 days during which four close family members passed away. I needed a way to heal, and from that journey, Inspiring2Live was born. I began recording moments that would encourage and uplift others. While dealing with my own pain and taking time for myself, I found focus. This newfound clarity enabled me to design my perfume, create ABC affirmation cards, and develop the Inspiring2Live brand.
Have any books or other resources had a big impact on you?
The one book that has profoundly shaped my business ventures is the Bible. It inspires vision and fosters an atmosphere of resilience, empowering you to persevere even in the moments when you feel like giving up.
What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
The most effective strategy has been to grow your clientele organically. With marketing on social media, setting up a profile on Google, and preparing pitches for magazines, local stations, podcasts, or other platforms. When preparing, be honest and know when an opportunity is for you. You will make an impression and impact that will last. The most successful approach to expanding your clientele is to cultivate relationships and connections organically. This involves harnessing the power of social media to showcase your brand and engage with your audience, establishing a comprehensive profile on Google to enhance your visibility, and thoughtfully crafting pitches for various platforms such as magazines, local radio stations, podcasts, and other media channels.
As you prepare your pitches, it’s essential to be authentic and transparent about your offerings. Trust that when an opportunity aligns with your strengths and expertise, you will create a memorable impression that resonates with your audience and fosters long-term relationships. This deliberate and genuine approach can lead to impactful engagements that genuinely reflect your unique value.
