Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Renita Hamilton. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Renita , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Alright, so you had your idea and then what happened? Can you walk us through the story of how you went from just an idea to executing on the idea
My business started from a very personal experience. Before I ever became a body sculpting professional, I was a client. At the time, I was looking for ways to regain confidence in myself and my body. I began receiving body sculpting treatments and was amazed by the results. Not only did I see physical changes, but I felt more confident and empowered. That’s when a thought crossed my mind: Why don’t more women know about this?
I became passionate about educating women that there were alternatives to surgery. I wanted to tell everyone I knew that there were non-invasive options available that could help them achieve their goals. The results had changed how I felt about myself, and I wanted other women to experience that same confidence. I remember feeling so excited that I wanted to scream it from the mountaintops. What started as excitement quickly turned into an idea for a business.
The very next step was research. I spent weeks learning everything I could about the body sculpting industry. I researched treatments, equipment, certifications, safety standards, and business requirements. I wanted to make sure I wasn’t just offering a service—I wanted to be knowledgeable and provide real value to my clients.
Once I felt confident in my research, I invested in professional training and certifications. After completing my training, I purchased my first equipment. It was a big investment and, honestly, a little scary. There were moments when I questioned whether I could really do it. Starting a business requires taking risks, and there were many times I felt uncertain about the future.
What carried me through those moments was my faith. Throughout the entire process, I had to trust God. I didn’t have every answer, every resource, or every step perfectly mapped out, but I believed God had placed this vision in my heart for a reason. Whenever fear tried to convince me to stay comfortable, my faith reminded me to keep moving forward. I learned that courage isn’t the absence of fear—it’s moving forward despite it. Trusting God gave me the confidence to take that leap.
I officially established my business October of 2021, created my branding, built my social media presence, and began telling people about my services. The first few months were all about building trust and getting my name out there. I spent countless hours creating content, educating potential clients, networking, and sharing results. I wore every hat in the business. I was the receptionist, marketer, photographer, customer service representative, and practitioner all at the same time.
As clients began seeing results, word-of-mouth referrals started growing. One client became two, two became ten, and over time my business continued to expand. What kept me motivated was seeing women walk into my office lacking confidence and leave feeling empowered and excited about their progress. I realized I wasn’t just helping women change their bodies—I was helping them rediscover confidence in themselves.
After a year and a half of growth in my body sculpting business, I began thinking bigger. I wanted to create a professional environment not only for my clients but also for other beauty professionals. That vision led me to open Graceful Angels Suites.
Opening the salon required finding the right location, designing the space, creating policies and procedures, managing renovations, and learning an entirely new side of business ownership. What many people don’t know is that I literally built the salon from the ground up. When I first got the space, it was a blank canvas. There were no floors, no suites, no finished rooms—just an open space and a vision that God had placed in my heart.
I had to transform that empty space into what I had imagined. That meant finding contractors, coordinating projects, managing expenses, and making countless decisions along the way. My family stepped in to help, and together we worked tirelessly to bring the vision to life. There were many late nights and early mornings spent painting walls, hanging drywall, sanding surfaces, and doing things I had never done before. I wasn’t a contractor, and I certainly wasn’t an expert in construction, but I was willing to learn.
There were moments when I was exhausted, overwhelmed, and unsure of how everything would come together. But every challenge taught me something new. I learned as I went, figured things out one step at a time, and refused to give up. It wasn’t easy, but I knew that if I wanted to see my vision become reality, I had to execute the plan. Looking back now, some of the most rewarding moments came from seeing the transformation—not just of the space itself, but of myself as an entrepreneur. The process taught me resilience, patience, and the power of perseverance.
Looking back, the process wasn’t one giant leap—it was a series of small, consistent steps. An idea became research. Research became training. Training became action. Action became a business. And that business eventually became a salon. Through every challenge, every setback, and every victory, God was guiding my steps.
What started with my own personal transformation turned into a mission to help others transform their confidence and pursue their own dreams. My journey is proof that when faith meets purpose, incredible things can happen. I was scared, but I trusted God, and He gave me the courage to build something bigger than I ever imagined.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
My name is Renita Hamilton, and I am the founder and owner of Graceful Angels Body Sculpting and Graceful Angels Suites. Above all else, I am a woman of faith, an entrepreneur, and someone who is passionate about helping others transform their lives through confidence, self-care, and opportunity.
My story is also a testament to where I come from. I’m a proud Detroit native who grew up on the east side of the city near 7 Mile. Like many people who grow up in underserved communities, I witnessed challenges at an early age and experienced circumstances that could have easily limited my vision for the future. But those experiences didn’t define me—they shaped me.
Growing up taught me resilience, resourcefulness, and the importance of hard work. It taught me how to persevere when things aren’t easy and how to keep moving forward even when the odds seem stacked against you. Those lessons became some of my greatest strengths as an entrepreneur.
When people look at Graceful Angels today, they see a thriving business and a beautiful salon, but what they don’t always see are the years of determination, sacrifice, and faith that made it possible. I am living proof that your starting point does not determine your destination. Being a girl from Detroit’s east side gave me grit, ambition, and a relentless drive to create opportunities not only for myself but for others as well.
My journey into the body sculpting industry began as a client. Like many women, there was a season in my life when I struggled with confidence and wasn’t completely comfortable with my body. I began receiving body sculpting treatments and was amazed by the results. The transformation wasn’t just physical—it was emotional. I felt more confident, empowered, and comfortable in my own skin.
That experience changed my life and opened my eyes to something important: so many women didn’t know there were alternatives to surgery. I became passionate about educating women about non-invasive body contouring treatments that could help them reach their goals without the risks, recovery time, or expense associated with surgical procedures. I wanted every woman to know she had options. What started as a personal experience quickly became a calling and ultimately a business.
Today, Graceful Angels Body Sculpting specializes in non-invasive body contouring services designed to help clients enhance their natural beauty and regain confidence. Our services include body sculpting, laser lipo, cavitation, lymphatic activation, and customized treatment plans designed to help clients achieve their body goals. While the physical results are important, the real transformation goes much deeper. We help women feel confident, empowered, and comfortable in their own skin again.
What sets me apart is that I truly understand my clients because I was once one of them. I’ve experienced the insecurities, the frustrations, and the desire to feel better about myself. Because of that, I approach every client with compassion, honesty, and genuine care. I don’t see people as appointments on a calendar—I see them as individuals with stories, goals, and dreams. My mission is to create an experience where clients feel supported, encouraged, and celebrated throughout their journey.
After building my body sculpting business, I felt called to create something even bigger. That vision became Graceful Angels Suites. I wanted to create a professional, beautiful, and supportive environment where beauty professionals could build and grow their own businesses. Today, Graceful Angels Suites provides entrepreneurs with a space where they can pursue their dreams, serve their clients, and build their futures.
One of the accomplishments I am most proud of is building the salon from the ground up. When I first acquired the space, it was completely empty—a blank canvas with no floors, no suites, and no finished rooms. I had a vision in my head and a determination to bring it to life. With the help of family, faith, and hard work, I transformed that space into what it is today. There were countless late nights and early mornings spent painting, sanding, hanging drywall, coordinating contractors, and learning skills I never imagined I would need as a business owner. It wasn’t easy, but it taught me that growth happens when you’re willing to step outside of your comfort zone and trust the process.
More than anything, I am proud that I never gave up. There were moments when I was scared, uncertain, and overwhelmed. Entrepreneurship is not always glamorous. There are sacrifices, setbacks, and challenges that people don’t always see. Through it all, I had to trust God. My faith became my foundation. I truly believe that God placed these visions in my heart, and whenever fear tried to stop me, my faith reminded me to keep moving forward.
What I want people to know about me and my brand is that Graceful Angels is about so much more than body sculpting or salon suites. It’s about transformation. It’s about confidence. It’s about creating opportunities and helping people believe in themselves again. Whether I’m helping a woman feel amazing in her own body or helping a beauty professional take the next step in her career, my goal is always the same—to empower people to become the best version of themselves.
If there’s one thing I hope people take away from my story, it’s that you don’t have to let where you started determine where you’ll end up. I’m a woman from Detroit’s east side who had a dream, trusted God, worked hard, and refused to quit. Everything I’ve built started with faith, perseverance, and the courage to take the first step. If my story inspires someone else to pursue their purpose despite their fears or circumstances, then I’ve accomplished something far greater than building a business.

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
I believe one of the biggest factors in building my reputation within my market has been authenticity. From the very beginning, I made a commitment to show up as myself. I never tried to be someone else or build a brand around an image that wasn’t genuine. I believe people can sense when someone is authentic, and that authenticity has allowed me to build trust with my clients and community.
Another major factor has been the results and experiences my clients share. Client reviews have played a huge role in establishing my reputation. There is nothing more powerful than a client who has had a positive experience and is willing to share their story. Whether it’s a transformation they’ve achieved, the confidence they’ve gained, or how they felt during their experience at Graceful Angels, those testimonials have helped build credibility and trust with potential clients.
I was once told, “Your tribe will find you,” and that advice has stayed with me throughout my entrepreneurial journey. Instead of trying to appeal to everyone, I focused on serving people genuinely, providing excellent service, and staying true to my values. Over time, the right clients naturally found me. They connected not only with the services I provide but also with my personality, my mission, and my heart for helping others.
I also believe consistency has been a key part of my reputation. Whether it’s showing up for my clients, continuing to educate myself, maintaining a professional environment, or providing quality service, I’ve always believed that the small things done consistently create a lasting impact. Reputation isn’t built overnight—it’s earned through trust, reliability, and the way you make people feel.
More than anything, I want people to know that when they come to Graceful Angels, they’re not just another appointment. They’re valued, heard, and supported. I genuinely care about the people I serve, and I believe that level of care is what has helped build the reputation and relationships I have today.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
One story that truly illustrates my resilience is the journey of opening Graceful Angels Suites. Like many entrepreneurs, I had a vision, but I didn’t have unlimited resources. One of the decisions I made early on was that I wanted to build my salon without relying on business loans. While there is absolutely nothing wrong with using outside funding when needed, I personally wanted to prove to myself that I could build something through hard work, consistency, and faith.
That meant every dollar invested into the salon came from the business I had already built. I funded the entire project out of pocket through the revenue generated from my body sculpting business, strategic marketing efforts, and continuously reinvesting back into my company. There were times when it would have been easier to take shortcuts or wait for the “perfect” moment, but I remained committed to the vision.
The challenge wasn’t just financial. When I first acquired the salon space, it was completely empty—a blank canvas. What people see today is the finished product, but what they don’t see are the countless hours, sacrifices, and emotions that went into creating it. There were many late nights, early mornings, stressful days, and even moments when I cried out of frustration. My family stepped in to help, and together we worked tirelessly to transform an empty space into a professional environment where beauty professionals could thrive.
There were moments when I felt exhausted and overwhelmed. There were unexpected expenses, construction delays, and times when I questioned how everything would come together. But every obstacle became an opportunity to learn, adapt, and grow. I reminded myself that resilience isn’t about never facing challenges—it’s about refusing to quit when challenges arise.
Most importantly, I leaned on my faith. There were many moments when I didn’t know how the next piece would come together, but I trusted God throughout the process. I truly believed He had given me the vision, and I trusted Him to guide my steps even when the path wasn’t clear. Whenever fear, doubt, or frustration tried to take over, my faith reminded me to keep moving forward.
Today, when I walk through Graceful Angels Suites, I’m reminded that resilience is built one decision at a time. Every wall, every suite, and every success story inside that building represents faith, sacrifice, perseverance, and a commitment to seeing a vision through. Building my salon completely out of pocket taught me that with determination, discipline, hard work, and trust in God, what seems impossible can become reality.
Looking back, I’m most proud not of the building itself, but of the woman I became during the process. The journey taught me patience, resilience, resourcefulness, and the power of believing in yourself even when the outcome is uncertain. It showed me that with faith and perseverance, you can build something extraordinary from nothing more than a vision and the courage to take the first step.
