The foundation of my business mission is deeply rooted in my experiences working within male-dominated corporate environments. These encounters served as a catalyst for a deliberate decision I made when launching my own business: to exclusively partner and collaborate with women. I witnessed a disheartening lack of unity and support among women in these environments, which fueled my belief that by coming together, we could harness our collective expertise and flourish. My primary focus is empowering women who strive for a harmonious work-life balance. These are women who excel at what they do and aspire to leave a lasting legacy for their families. I firmly believe that by implementing the right systems and automation in their businesses, we can unlock their full potential and help them achieve their goals.

My name is Renee, and I wear many hats—mom to my two wonderful kids and a supportive wife to my husband. Growing up, I had two passions: becoming a lawyer or delving into the world of technology. However, the extensive schooling required to become a lawyer made me reconsider, and I decided to follow my heart towards technology. Even at a young age, I was the go-to person for tech assistance within my family. During my school years, I eagerly chose technology-related electives and went on to earn my bachelor’s degree in information technology.
After graduating, I embarked on a corporate career with aspirations of becoming a project manager. I joined a company that specialized in setting up systems for car washes, steadily climbing the corporate ladder for six years. However, over time, I began to feel undervalued, prompting me to seek a change.
Entrepreneurship wasn’t initially on my radar until my daughter fell ill, and I realized the importance of spending more time with my family. It was then that I founded Renee & Co Consulting. Recognizing the demand among small businesses for implementing efficient systems and automation, we now assist established solopreneurs in streamlining and automating their operations to enhance their client experience.
What sets me apart is my unwavering determination to ensure that you have the right tools for success in your business. I diligently explore and learn about various tools available to ensure we select the most fitting ones for your specific needs. I take immense pride in teaching my kids the value of choice, whether it’s building their own businesses or pursuing traditional employment. They have learned that they possess the power to forge their own paths.

What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
One crucial lesson I had to unlearn is that I cannot help everyone in business or in life. When I first started my business, I had a strong desire to assist everyone because I believed that everyone could benefit from implementing systems and automation. However, I quickly discovered that this approach was detrimental to both myself and my financial well-being. I found myself undercharging for my services, allowing people to overstep my boundaries, and wasting valuable time.
Recognizing the need to change my mindset, I realized that it is essential to set clear boundaries and value my expertise appropriately. I understood that I cannot be everything to everyone, and that’s okay. By focusing on serving a specific target audience, I can provide more value and dedicate my time and resources effectively. This shift in mindset has allowed me to work with clients who truly appreciate the services I offer, resulting in more fulfilling and financially sustainable partnerships.
Understanding the importance of prioritizing my own well-being and establishing boundaries has been instrumental in the growth and success of my business. I now know that by choosing my clients wisely and valuing my worth, I can make a more significant impact while also maintaining a healthy and prosperous business.
Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
One significant moment when I had to pivot in my business was when I initially started offering social media management and tech services. As I immersed myself in networking and setting up my own tools, I began to realize the critical role of systems and automation in businesses. I also recognized the importance of developing a strategic approach before implementing the tools themselves, such as mapping out processes—an aspect often overlooked by many business owners.
Driven by this newfound understanding, I made the decision to let go of social media management and shift my focus exclusively towards helping businesses establish effective systems and elevate their client experience. This pivot allowed me to align my services with my true passion and provide more comprehensive support to my clients.
