We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Renee Pawlowicz a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Renee, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Naming anything – including a business – is so hard. Right? What’s the story behind how you came up with the name of your brand?
Twisted Energy Co. was created in 2016 when I was originally doing custom art and photography. I decided to keep the name when I became an esthetician because I didn’t want to let go of my other types of businesses. The name Twisted Energy comes from my drive to be versatile. It means that the energy that I place into these certain skill sets can all intermingle. That all of my energy/skills can be twisted into one business. From photography to multimedia arts to esthetics and more.
Renee, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My name is Renee Pawlowicz and I am the owner of Twisted Energy Co. As a little girl I always dreamed of owning my own business and making a career out of doing the things that I loved. I started taking clientele for photography and art around 2016 while I also worked a regular corporate job. When Covid hit it was a major wake up call. I knew that I didn’t want to rely on somebody else to make a living. So, that’s when I decided to take a dive into the world of esthetics. I never realized how much I would love this path and not to mention all of the doors it has opened for me along the way. The esthetics journey began with eyelash extensions and waxing, then laminations and lash lifts, to facials and more! I love this industry so much because it gives me a chance to be an artist in a whole other way. I’m able to give these women and men a new found confidence. Not to mention that I’m also able to give them a safe space to relax and get away from their every day life. I’m proud of the way I can make my clients feel and the relationships formed with each and every one. It wasn’t easy to make it to this point in my career but success comes from passion, dedication, and hard work. I wouldn’t trade this for anything.
What’s been the best source of new clients for you?
The most effective way I have gained new clientele has been through word of mouth. I mean what’s more reputable than someone you know being able to tell you about their experience? Social media has also been very influential in gaining clientele, but I will say after seeing the work itself my clients have been able to tell me that the reviews are what sold my business to them.
How do you keep in touch with clients and foster brand loyalty?
I like to keep in touch with my clients through social media, email marketing, and just being able to talk to them at their appointments. Social media allows me to see into their everyday life and enables me to support them as much as they support me! While with email marketing I am able to send out promotions, information, and overall it gives my clients a chance to reach out if they need anything. In the few years I’ve been an esthetician, I have learned that communicating with my clients on a personal level about what they love about my business or what they would like to see change has been the most effective way for me to be able to foster brand loyalty.
