We recently connected with Reneé Moussa and have shared our conversation below.
Reneé, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. It’s always helpful to hear about times when someone’s had to take a risk – how did they think through the decision, why did they take the risk, and what ended up happening. We’d love to hear about a risk you’ve taken.
When I had graduated college, I was working at a residential real estate brokerage for a top producing team and agent. On the outside it looked like anyone’s dream job, but on the inside I felt deeply unaligned and honestly, unhappy. I felt like I wanted to take a shift, but was so afraid to leave such an incredible team and position. It wasn’t until my body forced me to walk away – and I started to develop symptoms of hormonal imbalance and gut issues. I felt chronically in fight or flight mode, and like I couldn’t function. Normally, one would push through, but I followed my intuition and took space away from work to heal myself. I dedicated myself to learning about the best ways to naturally heal your gut and hormones, and spent months working on myself. After achieving the greatest level of health I had ever been at, declining medications from Western medicine doctors and handling it completely by myself despite what they said, I was inspired to go back to school and start an online practice where I see clients worldwide for the exact same issues.

Reneé, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I am a certified Integrative Health Practitioner specialized in combining multidisciplinary Eastern and Western Based modalities into one. I specialize in Weight Loss, Hormone, Thyroid, Gastrointestinal and Autoimmune Imbalances. Using state of the art Functional Medicine, Ayurveda, Herbalism, Chinese Medicine and Traditional Naturopathy, I discover the root causes of imbalance and chronic disease in the body to optimize health. In my practice, I do not believe in most chronic disease. What I do believe, is the presence of underlying imbalance stemming from deficiencies & toxicities that when rebalanced allow for true healing to take place in the body. As the health industry has taken a sharp shift into Holistic and Alternative practices, great medical care is now classified as individualized personal care with an emphasis on natural healing. I use one-on-one consults, in-depth analysis and advanced testing to understand these imbalances and create a personalized holistic health plan for each client. This serves as a clear roadmap to resolve persistent symptoms while allowing my client to lose weight, reverse aging, and be a walking billboard for health and wellness.
I have also founded a supplement company called bōhdi health, where we create all-in-one natural supplements formulated specifically to work on root causes of chronic symptoms in the body.
Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
Social media changed my life. When first beginning my socials I found it extremely difficult and maybe even embarrassing to share my opinions and face on the internet so openly. It was truly difficult to push myself to create content that would possibly go viral and be seen by millions. I had heard of the negativity that runs through social media, the treats, the nasty comments, and decided to push through anyway.
Sharing controversial views can be hard, but it has brought me a die-hard following of almost 300,000 people between TikTok + Instagram, and clientele from all over the world that genuinely need someone to figure out what’s going on deep within their bodies. The world of health and medicine is changing, and people don’t want to stand for the typical doctors visit which just end with prescription after prescription. People want someone to listen to their symptoms, find the underlying root cause and create a personalized plan to bring them back to health. That’s exactly what I’m here for.
My greatest advice is to put your face and your opinions out there on social media, and watch your clientele grow!

Are there any books, videos, essays or other resources that have significantly impacted your management and entrepreneurial thinking and philosophy?
I always read books and listen to podcasts of people that I want to be more like. Personal development should be a priority for any entrepreneur, no matter what the industry. Some of my favorites have been by Kute Blackson, Brene Brown, Joe Dispenza, Brianna West, Mark Manson, and Mel Robbins. 48 Laws of Power was also an awesome read.
Another thing that has significantly impacted my entrepreneurial philosophy is religion and spirituality. Connecting with a higher power and believing that everything truly does happen for a reason has dramatically shifted my perspective on business and life. I’ve learned to go with the flow, trust the process, and believe in myself and the journey I’m on as an entrepreneur. A great book that has helped me dive even deeper in spirituality is Many Lives Many Masters by Dr. Brian Weiss. Highly recommend!
