We were lucky to catch up with René Wiebensohn recently and have shared our conversation below.
René, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. What do you think matters most in terms of achieving success?
I think success has nothing to do with awards or accolades. It has to do with how you’ve been of service to others. They don’t read your resume at your funeral. But people will talk about how you made them feel. I think our goal should be to help as many people through our daily actions as possible. That’s what I find to be true success.

René, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I am in love with the city of Los Angeles. Its unique and diverse neighborhoods, incredible views, its dog friendly establishments and of course, the tacos(!) make this the ideal place for me. My passion is connecting with and helping others. Real Estate is the perfect vehicle for me to make a difference in people’s lives. I understand that a house is more than four walls and a roof. It’s where you celebrate life’s wins, recuperate from its blows and plan for the next big adventure. Selling and buying a home can be a complicated and emotional process, which is why it’s so important to trust the team you choose to represent you.
A consistent record breaker in neighborhood sales, I am an experienced and consistent negotiator with a knack for solving problems. I’m known for closing tough transactions with ease and provide top notch, uncommonly thorough service. I am fiercely protective of my clients’ best interest and as a result, have developed a strong referral-based clientele.
I live in Highland Park with my incredibly talented wife and our rescue dogs, Gracie and Ori. Contact me anytime. I look forward to welcoming you to the Renéighborhood!

What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
As a woman, I had to unlearn apologizing for everything. For having a need, for clarifying an incorrect statement or for standing up for myself and others. It took me 45 years but I no longer make myself smaller to make others (ahem..men) feel better about themselves. I excel at tough conversations required in negotiations because I don’t let my ego get involved. It’s a skill I find women really excel at which is why most top agents are female.

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
People can sense inauthenticity. We tend to attract those clients who appreciate our ability to act as a close friend during the entire process of buying and selling a home. As a women-led organization we pride ourselves on all aspects of the process which can be overwhelming for most. Maintaining close relationship with key counterparts within our industry allows us to offer the best services to our clients.
