We were lucky to catch up with Rene Troy recently and have shared our conversation below.

Rene , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Often the greatest growth and the biggest wins come right after a defeat. Other times the failure serves as a lesson that’s helpful later in your journey. We’d appreciate if you could open up about a time you’ve failed.

I wouldn’t necessarily call this a failure more or a motivation to not give up. If you don’t learn from failures you will not learn the lessons behind them. Getting told ‘No’ and having the door slammed in you face several times. Can either make or break you. It molded me to have yoigj skin and keep fighting for my goals and succeeding in grabbing my dreams

Rene , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

I’m a queen/jack of all trades, I dabble in video games, anime, cosplay, content creation, digital art, writing novels, fitness, the list goes on. Modeling was one of those hobbies I could become good at and the challenges of it all kept me going. Rejection, being told I not the beauty standard people are looking for etc. I’ve heard it all. Still I rise tithe occasion and show up to runway shows and events to make a name for myself. To show I did nor give up.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.

I’d modeling was easy, everyone could do it but it’s not. You have to have a strong mental and superb confidence to enter a world full of judgment and critical criticism. Someone is always picking and prying about your body and face because being a model means you are a product or a blank canvas. Thick skin is how you will survive a very competitive industry and prey victim to comparing yourself. You will not make it very far doing that. Trust the process, have patient and believe in yourself because sometimes np one else will.

Simple. Knowing that I bring a plethora of talent to the table and if the first no does nkr see my worth there is a yes out there that does
