Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to RENE MORALES. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
RENE, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Naming anything – including a business – is so hard. Right? What’s the story behind how you came up with the name of your brand?
I came up with the name REEMA because each letter represents someone in my family: Rene, Ella, Elijah, Madeline, and Adriana. This name reminds me daily of who I’m working for and why I started this journey. It’s not just a business—it’s a purpose rooted in family, legacy, and love.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
My name is Rene, and I’m the founder of REEMA Services, a family-inspired business focused on providing reliable moving, junk removal, and delivery solutions. I started this business after over two decades of service in the U.S. Navy, where I developed a deep understanding of logistics, discipline, and customer care.
The name REEMA isn’t just a name—it’s a reflection of my purpose. Each letter stands for a member of my family: Rene, Ella, Elijah, Madeline, and Adriana. This name reminds me why I started this journey and who I’m building this for. It gives me the motivation to go the extra mile for every client, every time.
At REEMA, we specialize in careful handling, on-time delivery, and dependable service. What sets us apart is our military precision, strong family values, and a deep commitment to treating every client’s needs with the same care we give our own. Whether it’s clearing space, helping families move, or supporting small business logistics, we’re here to serve with integrity and purpose.
I’m most proud of how far we’ve come as a family business and the trust we’ve earned from our clients. At the heart of REEMA is a mission to serve—not just as a provider, but as a dependable partner our clients can count on.
Have you ever had to pivot?
One of the biggest pivots in my life came after I retired from the U.S. Navy. I had built a career around structure, discipline, and service—but transitioning to civilian life was not easy. After working in the consulting world, I was unexpectedly laid off. That moment forced me to stop relying on outside employers and start building something of my own. I pivoted by creating REEMA Services, named after my family, and built a business grounded in the same values I lived by in the military: service, precision, and integrity. What felt like a setback became a defining moment—one that gave me a new mission and greater purpose.
Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
A lesson I had to unlearn was that job security comes from working for someone else. For most of my life, I believed that the best path was to get a stable job, follow the rules, and climb the ladder. After retiring from the Navy and then getting laid off from a corporate position, I realized how quickly that security can disappear. That moment forced me to rethink everything. I had to unlearn the mindset that entrepreneurship was too risky and start believing in my own ability to create opportunities. Building REEMA Services from the ground up taught me that real security comes from purpose, resilience, and owning your path—even when it’s the harder one.
