We were lucky to catch up with Renae Fieck recently and have shared our conversation below.
Renae, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today To kick things off, we’d love to hear about things you or your brand do that diverge from the industry standard.
I was a straight A student. In college I took more than a full load of classes, worked at Red Robin serving tables on the weekend, and worked an on campus job during the week. How I still managed to have an active social life and go on dates with my now husband is beyond me.
The hustle was real. There was always something to do. A deadline to meet. Somewhere I had to be. At the time it felt okay but I think if I were truly honest with myself I was going so fast I didn’t actually have the time to slow down and check in with myself. I was running on a heavy dose of cortisol and adrenaline.
There was just this constant compulsion to feel the need to be productive all the time. And I don’t think I’m alone in this feeling. Many of my clients and women I’ve talked to have expressed this guilt for slowing down and stopping because there’s always something that needs to be done…heaven forbid you actually stop for a moment when there’s something on the list to be done.
Women are juggling a million things on their plates and feeling like they can’t put any of it down. Women with massively big goals and feeling like the only way to achieve them is to muscle through and keep going. Women feeling motivated and excited and then quickly becoming burnt out. Or going years running on fumes until something in their life is suffering…their health (talk about cortisol overload), relationships, sanity, family, and so much more.
It’s no surprise the hustler in me decided to start my own business the year my husband was diagnosed with a brain tumor in the midst of raising 3 kids and working 2 part time jobs. Call me crazy, yes, but I had a dream to create more freedom in my life. Maybe it was having a husband face a brain tumor reminding me of how much we aren’t guaranteed tomorrow or watching 3 babies grow and transform before your eyes reminding you have how fast time goes. But there was something in my soul longing to slow down and savor the moments.
But hustling was the only thing I knew.
All the experts, coaches, and leaders I was following were encouraging the same themes and quotes like “your dreams don’t work unless you do” or “find a way, not an excuse.” If I was being completely honest, I 100% believed them (at the time) and they did motivate me to get started. But after 3 years of building my business and paying more money than I was earning, checking all the metaphorical boxes, and still not seeing the success I desired, I was tired.
I knew my “why” was big enough. I was making the sacrifices (in ways I now regret). Yet something was just still not working.
I was tired and burnt out.
And that’s when my mentor and friend introduced me to the idea of cycle syncing.
I didn’t even change anything. I just started to notice. I just started to notice how I was feeling and recognizing patterns. Over the next year or 2 I started shifting small things, like when I sat down to wrote emails or when I would push harder in my business and started noticing how much easier things felt. I started noticing times of the day when I worked better than others. Times of the month that felt like I could get in the flow easier or when I felt more motivated or when moments when I wanted to burn down my business.
But here’s the quick synopsis…
Men have testosterone that overall starts at its highest earliest in the morning and then waxes and wanes throughout the day leaving them with less at the end of the day. They go to bed and then wake the next morning with a fresh dose of testosterone.
This is why men function so well on a daily (24 hour) rhythm with scheduling in blocks of time for working, habit stacking their workouts at specific times of day, etc. The daily habits and routines thrive with this consistent rhythm.
Rather than testosterone functioning in a daily rhythm, women have predominantly estrogen and progesterone that are doing a dynamic dance throughout the entire month (28 day cycle). If you looked at the entire month cycle, there is literally not a single day that is exactly the same as another when it comes to your hormones.
And these hormones impact everything about the way a woman functions. It impacts her ability to focus, be creative, plan, socialize, communicate, you get the point.
When women start aligning their lives and work to their cycles, they start to find more ease, flow, balance, higher productivity, and so much more. And it doesn’t take an entire life overhaul to feel the benefits. Many of my clients notice shifts in the very first week, even making the smallest of changes.
Just the awareness of how your cycle impacts you throughout the entire month can allow women to breathe a sigh of relief that there isn’t something wrong for not feeling motivated, energetic, or productive all month long.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
In May of 2015, I got offered what I thought was my dream job, found out I was pregnant, and found out my husband had a brain tumor all in the same month. The year that followed was full of mental breakdowns, ambulance rides, ER visits, surgery, and lots and lots of “what if” questions.
It was out of the year that I had the realization that you only live once and you’re never guaranteed tomorrow and wanted to make the most of my life. I wanted to create time and financial freedom to live my life to the fullest.
After 3 years of hustling in the smallest cracks of time and juggling life, work, and building a business I was exhausted and craving something different. There had to be a different way.
That’s when I stumbled across cycle syncing and how women are different from men in the way they work. It became the pivotal moment in my business and has now become a game changer in the lives of many of my clients and women I’ve worked with.
I help women running online businesses redefine the way they work by embracing their body and feminine rhythms. Through my Cycle Advantage methods I help women balance the demands of life, make a bigger impact, and get bigger results without adding more stress or needing more time.
I help empower women to lead from their feminine and crush their goals without having to subscribe to the hustle culture. Women begin to feel more permission and grace to build their businesses and lives in a way that feels in alignment with them and their values.
At the core, I help women begin to trust themselves and trust their own intuition by coming back to their bodies.
We help women reconnect with themselves by leaning into their cycles in work and life inside Your Cycle Advantage, go deeper into trusting their intuition and scaling their businesses inside the Flow Collective, and complete transformational experiences at our destination retreats.

What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
When I started my business, I followed all the online experts and I did all the things they said. I jumped from strategy to strategy and checked all the boxes. I focused in on the strategy and the messaging and the ads and all the things. While I don’t believe any one of those are inherently bad or not needed, the biggest thing that was missing was the heart and connection. I was focusing so much on the numbers that I lost the personal connection. Today, one of the biggest factors in my business is focusing on how I can serve my clients, connect with others authentically, and always coming from a heart centered approach. I’m hear to make an impact on women’s lives above all else and when I focus on how I can truly connect (even when it means going above and beyond), that’s what I do. People feel that. People feel valued. And that’s one of the most effective strategies for growing loyal clients.

Have any books or other resources had a big impact on you?
Personal growth and doing the inner work has been one of the most pivotal things I’ve done in my life and business. I oftentimes say that if I were to close up my business that what I’ve learned about myself and the growth I’ve made would 100% still be worth it. Some of my favorite resources have been Dollars Flow Easily to Me, Happy Pocket Full of Money, and Superfans, But really, I think as an entrepreneur having the thirst for knowledge and growth is key for creating success.
