We were lucky to catch up with Regina Steed recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Regina, thanks for joining us today. So, naming is such a challenge. How did you come up with the name of your brand?
How did I come up with the name RCS Entertainment? Hhaha most people think that it’s my initials but in reality the initials are of my kids.
Back in 2012, I was told that I would never have the opportunity to have kids but boy were the Dr’s wrong. With 3 kids, I always said that I wanted to leave them a legacy. And when my husband came up with the idea of starting a photo booth business I already had the name, RCS which stands for Ry’lee, Carson, Sophia. Which has to start with the youngest kid name first, middle child second, and oldest last.
My hopes is when they are of age and start understanding the business that they will take this business and turn it into something greater. Adding more things to the business such as more photo booth business, wedding entertainment things, etc.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
Hello! My name is Regina Steed, owner of RCS Entertainment, LLC. I carry many titles, but the best title of all is being a mother. I am a wife to my loving husband, Cory Steed, and we have three beautiful kids, Sophia, Carson, and Ry’lee. I’ve been in the business since November 2022 and I absolutely love what I do. I love the excitement, smiles, and fun that each and everyone of my clients receive when they book us.
How did I get in the industry? To know my husband, is to know that he’s the quiet one. We were at a party and we saw a 360 Photo booth there and we got on it and my husband had so much fun. He was like let’s get one of these. I brushed it off and we no longer talked about it. However, back in November we had photos taken at this beautiful place (The Farm on Groometown in Greensboro, NC) and I automatically fell in love with the place that the next day I visited the place and scheduled my daughters birthday party there. I talked to the owners about wanting to start this photo booth business and she encouraged me to do it. Til this day she has played a very important puzzle piece by promoting me and sharing my business with her customers to help entice their events.
We have two photo booths: Standard Digital Photo Booth and the 360 Video Photo Booth.
What sets me apart from others is regardless who you see online is who you see in person. I love to laugh, motivate you, encourage you, always pushing you to become greater. I dont see anyone as my competition but a way to learn. I take classes to help me to be successful in my business and share my knowledge with others. I love to speak to each and everyone of my customers to introduce myself and provide that white glove treatment.
I am proud of people referring me to others and speaking my name in rooms when I am not present.
What I want potential clients to know about me, I am just like you I love to have fun. I will get on the dance floor and do the wobble with you. I just love positive fun energy,
How did you build your audience on social media?
Everyday I show up as myself. I totally believe in mental health space. I talk about giving yourself grace, building boundaries, and the struggles of being a mother of two small kids.
People love that when you show up as your true self and when you show that you struggle the same way that they do.
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
In the photo booth business, I love that I make people have fun. Just to hear them say you are the best or leaving reviews and explain how their event was a success because of our business just warms my heart.
