We were lucky to catch up with Regina Smithwick recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi ReGina , thanks for joining us today. Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?
My name is ReGina Smithwick, and I proudly stand in my truth as ROYAL, EDUCATED, GORGEOUS, INDEPENDENT, NICE, and AMAZING. This wasn’t always my reality—before 2019, I was unaware that God had given me a profound assignment, and I wasn’t living up to my full potential. Then, on a beautiful Saturday afternoon in September 2019, everything changed. I had a mental breakdown. Tired of being sick and tired, I sought help from a spiritual life coach, a decision that transformed my life.
Through this journey of self-discovery, I learned several hard truths: I wasn’t standing in my authenticity, I didn’t love myself, and I was hiding from the world. It wasn’t until I declared my truth— “I am adopted”—that I found my voice. This profound moment fueled my desire to help others find theirs.
This mission gave birth to Let’s Talk 1943, a talk show and podcast that I created to empower, motivate, and uplift. The show offers an eclectic range of topics to introduce people to new ideas, featuring expert guests who help expand our audience’s perspectives. My ultimate goal is to bring the show to a global audience, helping people across the world discover and embrace their own truths.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
A story from my journey that illustrates my resilience took place in 2019, when I hit a low point. I found myself overwhelmed with life, feeling lost and out of alignment with my true self. I didn’t realize it at the time, but I was stuck in a cycle of trying to meet everyone else’s expectations, never truly focusing on my own purpose. It wasn’t until I had a mental breakdown on a quiet Saturday afternoon that I was forced to confront the truth—I wasn’t living in my full potential. That day, I realized I needed help, and I sought guidance from a spiritual life coach.
This was a pivotal moment in my life. It was during this difficult period that I learned the importance of trusting the process. I began to understand that the challenges I faced weren’t happening to me, but for me. I embraced the idea that as long as I was moving forward, I wasn’t failing. Instead, I was growing. The valleys I experienced taught me valuable lessons, and I’ve made it my mission not to repeat those same mistakes.
Through this process, I rediscovered my worth and learned that I am enough. I began to live by the principle of resilience—not allowing setbacks to define me, but rather, to refine me. This journey is what inspired me to create my life coaching program, Wring Out Your Sponge, so I could help others embrace their worth and realize that even in the darkest times, there is always a path forward.
What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
The mission driving my creative journey is deeply rooted in helping women discover and cultivate their God-given purpose. I’ve been on a personal path of self-discovery, and it’s become clear to me that every woman has an inherent value and purpose. However, many struggle to see it, just as I did for so long. My mission is to guide them through this process of self-awareness, helping them realize they are enough and that their experiences, no matter how challenging, are shaping them for something greater.
I find immense joy in watching women walk confidently in their purpose, understanding why they are here and how their unique gifts can contribute to the world around them. When a woman knows her purpose, she not only changes her own life but also becomes a beacon of inspiration for others. This ripple effect of purpose-driven living is what motivates me every day. Through my program, *Wring Out Your Sponge*, my life coaching services, and my foundation, I aim to empower women to break through the barriers of self-doubt and fear, encouraging them to step boldly into their calling. I believe that when women support and uplift one another, we create a powerful chain of transformation, and that’s the legacy I’m passionate about building.
