We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Regina S a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Regina, appreciate you joining us today. Can you share a customer success story with us?
This might be something other than your regular customer success story in business. I want to share mine.
I launched my coffee business in October 2022, looking for people to try out my coffee. Philadelphia has a small community of Filipinos, from food to culture. We are trying to showcase and uplift it as much as we can. I attended a supper club by Tita Emmies, a Filipino supper club pop-up in Philadelphia, and it was delicious. After weeks of attending, I asked them if they were interested in trying out Filipino coffee beans – I sent them a direct message from Instagram. Little did I know they were! We agreed to meet up and chat from there. I met her and her husband with my coffee beans and without a website. I did not even think of it when I reached out to them. They did not care either.
They are now my client for coffee for their new and upcoming restaurant + cafe. I have had the same landing page since 2022 and never considered revamping it.
I learned talking face to face matters more than a website, genuinely connecting with them and building a relationship throughout.

What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?
Instagram has been the best source of new clients for me. I reach out to small business accounts from my personal Instagram and talk with them. Of course, I choose businesses that align with my business/product and that’s food and beverage.I send cold emails as well, but I still believe in it.
Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
The most effective has been word of mouth, networking, and supporting small businesses like myself.
