We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Regina Hicks a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

I always loved music and wanted to sing I knew deep down I would be have this much happiness and fulfillment on a standard 9 to 5

Being a trans women in the world of R&B has t been exactly easy i e had to make my own lane and face a lot of adversity doing it not only from within the business but from members of my community who didn’t exactly support me as well which was hard but I believed in my voice and my talent and worked to change the view that as a trans women i’m a drag artist that lip sings when in fact I can sing showcasing a 5 octave range that on display prevalently throughout my album “Now or Never”and was first showcased on my debut single Trophy and the follow up “Ultimatum” featuring Atlanta Rapper Luddy B
Any resources you can share with us that might be helpful to other creatives?
wow this is a big one cause as a starving artist sort of speak, lol you really don’t have many resources but your faith in your talent and the money you can earn to invest back into yourself and your dreams having a multi million budget would be very ideal and go a long way but I’m so grateful for my faith that has allowed me to navigate thru life beat the odds and statistics that say someone like me isn’t supposed to be here and be successful. But New Flash. I Am Here !
