We recently connected with Regina Disilvestro and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Regina thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. So, let’s start with trends – what are some of the largest or more impactful trends you are seeing in the industry?
The beauty industry is constantly evolving with new trends, from hero ingredients to standout products. Recently, Cannabidiol (CBD) has gained significant attention. This non-psychoactive ingredient from cannabis species is celebrated for its anti-inflammatory and wound-healing properties and is being incorporated into everything from skincare to haircare. However, CBD still faces legal challenges at the federal level and can be quite costly.
Magnesium is also seeing a surge in popularity, particularly in creams and balms designed for muscle soreness, joint pain, and swelling. We’ve noticed an increased demand from our private label and custom formulation clients for magnesium-based products.
In terms of broader product categories, the sexual wellness and men’s skincare markets are rapidly growing but remain underserved. We’re experiencing a significant rise in sales of natural lubricants, edible massage oils, and libido support supplements, with many clients interested in private labeling these products for their own lines.
Sustainable packaging continues to be a major trend, with more customers and clients requesting glass or paper packaging. While this is great for the environment, it presents challenges. Glass packaging increases shipment weight, leading to higher costs and a greater risk of breakage, as well as a larger carbon footprint. Paper packaging, such as recycled cardboard tubes for deodorants, is eco-friendly but can sometimes affect product usability. Balancing environmental concerns, product functionality, and cost-effectiveness remains a key focus in packaging trends.

Regina, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
We manufacture and sell over 300 products that are 98-100% natural, from skincare to haircare and all in between including pet care and cleaning products. All featuring high concentrations of herbal extracts and other active ingredients. Our commitment to being as clean, therapeutic, and effective as possible sets us apart from other brands. Unlike many companies that outsource production or private label their products, we process our own herbal extracts and manufacture everything in-house, both for ourselves and other businesses. While many brands focus primarily on marketing and have little understanding of product formulation, we prioritize the quality and efficacy of our products above all else. Our deep expertise in formulation and ingredients ensures that our products deliver real benefits, with marketing and branding serving to complement their inherent value.

We’d love to hear your thoughts about selling platforms like Amazon/Etsy vs selling on your own site.
We have significantly expanded our selling platforms to reach a broader audience. For direct-to-consumer and wholesale/professional sales, our main platform is our website, www.rdalchemy.com, followed by Amazon.
To cater to additional wholesale/professional and retail accounts, we utilize Rangeme and Faire. For private label and custom formulation interests, we use Pietra.
Additionally, our products are available on various retail and distributor sites, including UNFI, Walmart, Top Dawg, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, and our large list of professionals that use or sell our products in their spa services.
With the abundance of selling platforms today and advanced technology, managing and uploading sales has become more streamlined and efficient.

Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
Growing your clientele is a numbers game: you need to engage in 100 conversations to reach 50 serious discussions, and ultimately secure 5 clients who commit. Leveraging a diverse range of selling platforms is crucial for expanding your reach and attracting potential clients, while effective marketing and diligent follow-up play key roles in converting interest into sales.
Additionally, utilizing email notification apps is essential. Once you’ve built an email list of interested prospects, these tools help automate communication, funneling connections into more meaningful interactions and potential sales opportunities.
