Reewa (Reevs), thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Can you talk to us about how you learned to do what you do?
Music is a gift, and I firmly believe it cannot be taught in the conventional sense. It can only be nurtured, refined, and polished, much like a diamond. I began my studies in classical piano at the age of four, having started to learn from my father at just two. My first public performance took place when I was four, where I had the privilege of singing a Hindi bhajan. I consider myself extraordinarily fortunate to have been born into a family where music is both a tradition and a passion. Each day is filled with the discovery of new notes and skills to be mastered. Both my parents are singers, and my grandfather was one as well. I feel truly blessed to have this musical gift coursing through my veins.
Throughout my childhood, I immersed myself in various musical traditions, from North and South Indian music to Western classical. My primary focus has always been to hone my craft, and that commitment continues to this day. However, songwriting was something I chose to pursue out of personal inclination rather than formal study. It emerged naturally, much like the flow of words—it simply came to me. There are no shortcuts when it comes to learning, and no method to hasten the process. It is all about investing time and effort; you can only reap what you sow.
One of the challenges I faced was mastering a variety of genres at once, each with its own distinct techniques and vocal approaches, and ensuring they did not overlap or confuse one another. It required hours of dedicated practice each day, focussing on each genre separately. The essential qualities needed to excel in any craft are resilience, patience, and determination.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I am a girl driven by compassion and an unwavering optimism. A dreamer at heart, I am determined to persevere, no matter how steep the journey may be. Though I’ve often walked alone, my music has always been my steadfast companion. 🎧 I’ve charted my own course, leaving footprints in the sands of time, and I will follow them, wherever they may lead.
I find joy in life’s simplest pleasures—the embrace of the mountains, the tranquility of the sea, and the warmth of my family’s love. I often lose myself in deep reflection, engaging in quiet conversations with my thoughts as I ponder my journey. I know I am destined to become the best version of myself. My emotions run deep, infusing my creativity and driving me to write song after song. Despite facing hurt and heartbreak, I hold fast to my dreams.
As a child, I made a promise to myself: I would become an international artist, But I never wanted to change who I am for the sake of fame or the world’s approval. I chose to remain true to my art, dedicating myself to the craft. There may have been easier paths to success, but I chose the harder one because I aspire to be a legend.
There is nothing more exhilarating than writing a song that has never been heard before—it feels like a precious gift. 💝 Each day, I challenge myself to move forward, making deliberate steps in the right direction. At times, loneliness may creep in, and I may feel lost in unfamiliar terrain, but this is my dream, my story, and I am grateful for every moment of it.
I will keep pushing until I reach my destination. I believe in the magic of miracles. I refuse to let the inner child within me fade away, for it is that very child that allows me to stay authentic, untouched by the world around me.
In your view, what can society to do to best support artists, creatives and a thriving creative ecosystem?
To cultivate a thriving ecosystem for creatives and artists, society must offer a multifaceted approach, beginning with accessible funding and grants that alleviate financial burdens. Public art spaces and platforms should be prioritised, ensuring that emerging talents have the opportunity to showcase their work. Encouraging collaboration across disciplines and facilitating networking opportunities can spark innovation, while investment in both art education and professional development ensures continuous growth. Fair compensation models are essential, recognising the value of an artist’s work and providing equitable remuneration. Furthermore, society must celebrate the full spectrum of artistic expression, fostering an inclusive and diverse environment that nurtures all creatives, regardless of background. Mental health support is equally crucial, as the emotional demands of the artistic process can be significant. By creating a culture that appreciates the vital role of art, providing entrepreneurial resources, and promoting public awareness, society can empower artists to flourish, ultimately benefiting both the individual and the broader cultural landscape.

Is there mission driving your creative journey?
Indeed, the goal is to honour the promise I made to myself as a little girl, a promise to follow my passion and use my voice to make a meaningful impact. It is to spread happiness and positivity across the world through my music, with a particular focus on empowering teenagers. I want to create a space where young people feel seen, heard, and encouraged to believe in their own potential. As teenagers, they face many challenges, but I hope to inspire them to see beyond the difficulties and embrace their inner strength. Through my songs, I want to remind them that they are capable of achieving anything they set their minds to, that their dreams are valid, and that they possess the power to shape their own futures. I want to encourage them to break free from the pressures of society, to challenge the norms, and to forge their own paths. Every teenager has the ability to create something extraordinary, and it’s my mission to show them that their unique voice matters. In a world that often makes them feel small or insignificant, I hope to empower them to stand tall, to chase their dreams with confidence, and to know that they are never alone in their journey. Through resilience, self-belief, and courage, anything is possible.
