We were lucky to catch up with Reewa recently and have shared our conversation below.
Reewa, appreciate you joining us today. Learning the craft is often a unique journey from every creative – we’d love to hear about your journey and if knowing what you know now, you would have done anything differently to speed up the learning process.
When the roots are deep there is no reason to fear the wind is what i believe in. Learning is a treasure that will follow its owner everywhere. I’ve studied 8 grades of western classical piano from the ROYAL SCHOOLS OF LONDON. Learnt hindustani/carnatic vocals at a very young age and I feel like i’ve always had a very strong pop/R&B influence in my music. Breaking down the expectations of each genre isn’t easy. It requires one to be aware and to focus on the finer nuances of each piece. I feel that music is the silence between two notes… At the risk of sounding hopelessly romantic, love is the key element.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I was born into a musical family and have been obsessed with music for as long as I can remember. My first human memory was putting my hands on a piano which my dad bought for me when I was 3 years old. I would hear dad and mom practicing vocals early in the morning and that was the most beautiful thing ..I was completely wonderstruck. I knew I wanted to become an artist. Right from childhood success to me meant waking up and being able to do the things I love , which is to sing, play piano and write songs. I did a lot of aural training to identify pitches, intervals, chords, and other basic elements of music. As they say a musician needs to have a good ear. I want to create anthems for big moments in people’s lives…I don’t want my music to play for a few months and then go away forever. And not only that, I want to do incredible things that make a difference too. I think it’s not only about the music you release, it’s about the things you do while you’re making the music. I plan to be a stronger person and know myself even better than I do now. I hope to improve the ability to listen to my instincts and go with my gut because I’ve learned just how far that can take me. I am super proud of how far i’ve come as an artist and as an individual. Growing stronger each day and working with some amazing producers and artists across the globe. I have written and sung 10 tracks for the famous Lounge Music label Buddha Bar located in Paris. Apart from that I featured in a music video alongside Kenny G and Lang Lang where I sang in Chinese. This was a very prestigious project ONE WORLD IN BEAUTY presented by Yue Sai Kan from New York. I recorded a song called ‘Heart Of Love’ written by Roxanne Seeman for the Hollywood movie -A 2nd Chance which released in theatres in Newark, New Jersey and New York. Currently, i’m working on a Symphony I wrote, this piece has given me so much strength and I can’t wait to perform it live with the Philharmonic Orchestra. I am also working on an album which will be out soon. I feel like my music is the dream combination of traditional jazz
and ultra modern 21st Century pop wrapped in a gorgeous vocal instrument, and seasoned
with a huge pinch of soul.
When all life is seen as divine,, everyone grows wings.! I am the source of my own musical inspiration. It comes from my life experiences, observations, trials, hopes, and dreams. I want my voice to reach a million souls and enrich their lives. I want to make my family proud and give them everything they deserve and more. I’m a dreamer and dreams are the seedlings of reality. If you don’t go after what you want, you’ll never have it.
What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
My music is driven by an innate, compulsive desire to create. When you have a childhood dream that still burns and tugs at your heart when you’re an adult, you owe it to yourself to pursue and achieve this dream. I have lots of things to prove to myself. I want to live my life fearlessly. I’ve found that no matter what life throws at me, music softens the blow. It’s literally the only thing I have. Leaving my family was the hardest thing to do. I was stuck between two worlds. Following your dreams isn’t always all it’s cracked up to be.The real world operates somewhat differently; for some people, this dream path may pan out, but for most of us, the road to our dreams is long, challenging, and unexpected. I left home with a big dream and I am nurturing it into a bigger brighter reality.
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
I feel like being able to do what you love the most is in itself extremely rewarding. Playing music is soul fulfilling. I mean there is nothing like that eureka moment of knocking off a song that didn’t exist before ! My passion for music has made me challenge my limits and grow stronger each day. I have the opportunity to collaborate with other artists, travel and have a variety of new experiences, often while courting an admiring fan base. The best thing is nobody can hurt me, cause I found peace within myself…..
