We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Reem Bollinger a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Reem, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?
As a young attorney staring out, our CEO at Alta Tera, Reem, wanted to buy her first home. She was single and young and eager to own property. Unfortunately, she had a negative experience with her realtor. She felt bullied into quickly purchasing a home. She decided to become a realtor herself so that she would never experience that again. That is what she modeled her brokerage on, patience and understanding. Further, because she is an attorney she prides herself on being detail oriented and appraised of the latest laws. All members of Alta Tera are high educated and/or experienced.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Our small but mighty brokerage is comprised of hard working moms who care deeply about doing a good job and providing the best experience for its clients. We are proud to provide assistance with residential and commercial transactions. We are very proud to provide an intimate experience where our clients feel important from the very moment they walk through our doors. We are named Alta Tera, for a play on “higher land” because we are connecting people not just to houses but to their future homes, land, and the memories they will create there.

Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
This is not the first brokerage I have helped open. The first did not succeed and honestly, I learned more from failure then I could have ever imagined. I learned to pick business partners more carefully and to stand up for myself and my vision of a business. I found that drive and hard work does not necessarily equate to success. One must grow in the same direction as the others they are working with. Succeeding now means even more because of my past hardships.

Can you tell us the story behind how you met your business partner?
I might my partner in law school. She was then and still is one of the hardest working woman I know. She shines in a courtroom and when at any social gathering. We have been dear friends for years, we are raising our children together, and we are building a real estate empire.
