We recently connected with Reek Rozay and have shared our conversation below.
Reek, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today How did you come up with the idea for your business?
My journey in the entertainment world started with my cousin Viergina. She was the one who told me that there were lots of Haitians in Dallas and that I should create events in the city to showcase and share the Haitian culture with the community. A week after having that conversation with her I was driving back to Dallas from Florida and found out about her untimely passing.
After that, all I could think about was what my cousin told me about showcasing Haitian culture in Dallas. From that day on I dedicated my life to creating memorable experiences and sharing my passion of entertainment with my community.
It brings joy to me to see people enjoying themselves at these events. Even it’s only for a few hours they are in a welcoming environment and are forgetting about their personal problems.
I remember a man came up to me at one of our events and he told me that his wife recently passed away and it made him extremely depressed. He said that coming to that specific event was almost like a form of therapy for him. Hearing that solidified that what we were doing for the community meant something deeper than what we even knew.
Our unique approach is catering to the Haitian community. There are a lot of Caribbean events and event curators but there was a gap in our community. Our business supports the Haitian/ local community in great ways. We are the hub of getting the news out about current and new Haitian businesses in Dallas/ Fort Worth. From restaurants, marketplaces’, konpa dance classes, Caribbean events and vendors, we utilize our platform to share with our followers how and where they can show support. We don’t limit ourselves to just Haitian businesses, we focus on all local small businesses as well, by sharing their products and services to our group.
Coming to a community where there was no unification, or access to Haitian food, culture or community and over time gathering over 160+ people from different cultures together to fellowship, is my most proud moment in business. We were missing a cultural exchange and with the help of my team and other leaders in the community we have been able to cultivate a strong community and share the richness of the Haitian culture.
We still have a lot of work to do but we’re still extremely grateful that our community is entrusting us with that role.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

Have you ever had to pivot?
A time when I had to pivot in business is when I gave up my job as a traveling Mental Health Technician for young kids and moved back to Dallas to build my business. I had a burning desire to build up the Haitian community so I left my stable position to figure it all out.
How’d you meet your business partner?
I met my co-founder Diane at an event that was happening in South Florida as I was visiting my friends and family in June 2022. I was exiting a Haitian event and she came up to me and said “Hi are you Reek? Well I’m Diane and I’m someone you need to know”. Since then we have grown this entire operation together with the help of our team, contractors, volunteers and supporters.
We look forward to seeing what’s in store for the business.
