Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Reco Wright Jr. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Reco, thanks for joining us today. Let’s talk legacy – what sort of legacy do you hope to build?
First and foremost everything I do is for my children to live off and be proud of. I’ve always said my life is over my children’s time is now, not in a morbid way but when I say that I mean it as everything I do is not just for me but for my children’s future. I’ve had my fun, been to many places across the globe, and experienced many things but I want my children to never go without.
Secondly, I would like to leave a legacy of improving others careers who are trying to make it in the film industry. Unfortunately, this industry is majority about who you know not so much what you can do. I’ve run across numerous talented individuals who possess breakthrough talent with no chance to express their talents. I want to help end that and give those a shot in this industry.
When I leave this earth I believe people will say that I was a nice person who wanted to see everyone succeed in life. A person that was a joy to be around, always smiling, and keeping people laughing. I believe people would say that I was a loving and devoted father to my children and a great friend.
I hope to be remembered as a G.O.A.T. (The Greatest Of All Time) in everything. I’m joking but I’m not. I guess I would just leave it up to you guys to decide.

Reco, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Before I became a Producer in the film industry I was a full-time Sales Executive for 8 years. I could sell salt to a snail twice. But all that changed when my job had to furlough me which changed my position in life causing me to step out of my comfort zone and pursue a lifelong dream. E’ian West a longtime friend made mine name for himself in the film industry and has always known about my passion and dreams to pursue the film industry. E’ian West then gave me my first shot which began to open up many doors for me and from then on there was no looking back. Since then The Brella Streaming Network is scheduled to launch in 2023 along with many other projects. I’ve since been promoted to Chief Creative Officer for The Brella Streaming Network and have been connected to a large list of highly profiled celebrities and athletes. One accomplishment I have been proud of in 2022 was his short film Panorama he was a Co-Producer who was Academy Awards Eligible. Panorama was a huge success. To be Academy Award Eligible deserves a big pat on the back. I am looking to work with great filmmakers and am open to discussing projects.
I’m very proud of the progress The Brella Streaming Network has made. We have come a very long way since the first time E’Ian West (founder of The Brella Network) brought up the idea to me years ago. From that point of The Brella Network being just a conversation to forming the app downloadable on IOS, Apple, and Roku. To bring on talent and filming with the likes of Jaden and Julian Newman (Influencers). I am also co-producer for Panorama a short film alongside Spencer Paysinger of CW All-American which is currently eligible for an Academy Award in 2023. I am an Executive Producer on a documentary on former NBA Champion Eddy Curry. I’m also very proud of Montage Media Production Company which I’m also affiliated with. Montage Media Production Company has recently won 2 short film awards for short film Shaded a short film directed by E’Ian West. This is huge for the company, and we are looking to use this momentum as we push forward. I am currently looking for a few individuals willing to build a media empire. We live in the day and age of being able to create anything without going through the traditional channels. Now is the time to look fear in the eye and conquer.
In this business, your personality, ability to recognize talent, ability to create long-lasting business relationships, and never burning bridges are essential. I’ve always represented myself and my brand to the utmost highest degree of professionalism and I am open to listening and working with other industry professionals. You never know who is the next big thing or what the next great idea might be. I always stay up to date with current events whether it’s reality television, TikTok, or whatever piques the viewer’s interest. Having supportive and positive people around you definitely helps contribute as well. Leaning continuously on my loving family and friends to support me whenever it’s needed.
What sets me apart from others is that I like to keep things fun all while creating shows that people can enjoy. I’m not a hard person to work with. I’ve always had a gift to speak to anyone like I’ve known them for years and “connect dots”. When I say “connect dots” I use that term meaning to have a vision, then take that vision and add talent, and from there bring everyone together and collectively execute a plan that makes sense. Others label me as a people person. Honestly dating back to my adolescent years growing up in Hollywood as an actor I’ve always just felt comfortable speaking with anyone and voicing my gift of vision. Whenever I’m on set, I like to make everyone feel comfortable. I want them to relax and let everything flow organically.
What’s been the best source of new clients for you?
Being the Chief Creative Officer in the film industry you have to keep up to date with current models and trends. What are people interested in currently? Who has people’s attention? Which way are the consumers leaning in the next 2 to 5 years? All these things matter and need to be analyzed when making decisions. Instagram is another way to get in contact with talent. A simple direct message or email can spark the conversations needed. Attend events geared towards your profession. This is where you can get in front of people and build a connection. This one has been my best asset honestly! Always been a people person so if I can get in front of you 9 times out of 10 I will be able to close you on a meeting with my business partners. I’ve treated this business like it was my sales job. Always be closing!

We’d love to hear your thoughts on NFTs. (Note: this is for education/entertainment purposes only, readers should not construe this as advice
I honestly believe NFTs are a complete joke. NFTs have been around since 2014 and in 2020 I honestly believe we all were bored due to COVID and staying in the house looking for the next big thing whether it was crypto or NFTs. I honestly laughed when I saw people buying them and putting them as their avatars. Now look today. Nobody has their NFTs as avatars anymore and the buzz is gone. I believe it was a complete scam and I’m glad I took zero parts of it. Now what I am not proud of is cashing out on my bitcoin prior to the raise in 2020. I would have been extremely rich but I was also extremely scared in 2020 on how the market was going to go. I guess I was wrong.
