We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Reckless Bound. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Reckless below.
Reckless, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today We’d love to hear about when you first realized that you wanted to pursue a creative path professionally.
Emma and I met about 2 years ago on broadway when someone wasn’t scheduled to work with Emma that day I decided to work the show with her. To this day that is one of the most fun gigs I’ve ever played. About a year into playing constantly on broadway in nashville together, we got more into writing with people. From there we knew we wanted to take a shot at doing something more original and creative. That is when Reckless Bound was truly born.

Reckless, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Sydney grew up listening to classic rock and classic country. Emma grew up listening to 80/90s country. When we started working together our sounds were definitely not cohesive. However, the more we played and wrote together the more we were able to develop our sound. Reckless Bound has a very 90s country vibe with a rock twist. We heavily use harmonies when write with the intention of the song being able to be lead by either of us!
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
For us, the most rewarding aspect of being a creative is being connected to people through the words that we write. When we write new music we try to write from personal experiences, sometimes they are sad experiences. I feel like a lot of times when something sad or hard happens in our lives it’s easy to feel like you’re the only one it’s ever happened too. With music, when people can connect with those personal aspects of what we create, it eases that loneliness that we sometimes feel.

What can society do to ensure an environment that’s helpful to artists and creatives?
We think the best way to further support artists is through social media. We work hard to be able to bring relatable content to our supporters, so when someone shares that on their personal social media. It really means a lot to us. I feel like society and social media needs to be more engaged with lower level artists and creatives. This way they are able to reach more people that would enjoy what they create.
